In a fight to the death I'd probably put my money on Bellicheck. I can't believe the devil would let him fall with so much work still to be done.

You must have seen the BB interviews after both of our games? Its blatent that there is/was some kind of problem with BB on EM. Thats not speculation , thats fact.

u cannot compare a 2nd year head coach with 0 playoff wins to a future hall of famer with 3 super bowl rings...ill wait until we win at least win a division title to debate on this

This is how I envision Mangini taking on Belichick:

    And for Belichick's close-up:

    Two men enter...one man leaves.

I have a lot of respect for BB from a football and stratagey perspective. I think one of his big stratagies is to never give the other team bulletin board material. He got so wrapped in playing his silly, spiteful, handshake, not mentioning EMs name game that he give a Jets major motivation on a personal level to beat him.

Is it speculation? of course. But by his behavior and actions anyone with any basic sense of people could tell that he was affected.

After that loss he did a complete 180 in his approach to EM. Saying his name, acknowledging him, complimenting him. In all, being the BB that does the right things to win. You can say what you want about speculation what is in his head but his behavior pretty clearly showed that he was thrown off his game.

I don't know about his post, but your post renders you negligible. All of them do, actually.

It's the time of year when bored posters from one team pretend they are posters from another team to get people pissed off. Happens every year, and we're getting a lot of Pats trolls this year for some reason. Not that I think joesmoe is a troll, but he doesn't offer much past half-conceived insults and surface evaluations.

The Mawae decision was the kind of decision that really good franchises make without thinking about it. A guy is playing at 90% of what he was but getting paid at 110% because he used to be a star? Time for him to go.

That said it was still an amazing achievement for Mangini to put a rookie center on a mediocre line full of journeymen, other 90%ers you can't afford to cut yet (Kendall and Mawae both in the same year would be asking for a disaster) and another rookie at the most important position on the line and still get enough consistency out of the group to win 10 games.

Chrebet for all of his absences due to the concussions was still the guy other teams worried about on 3rd down and he was still the guy whose very presence in the locker-room made everybody else on the team aware that there were no excuses for failing on the field. If a little guy like that with no speed (quickness yes, speed no) could produce on the field then nobody else in that locker-room had any excuses for not producing when the chips were down. It was Chrebet who keyed that great early season surge in 2000 when everybody else on the offense was saying "what no Key? How are we going to do this?" The Jets don't win in Tampa and they don't win in Miami if Chrebet doesn't take those games over in crunch time. Then of course everybody else in the NFL figured out that if you double Chrebet you can shut him down and the Jets faded under that reality. Think about that: the New England Patriots were doubling a 5'8" receiver with no speed because they had to.

I agree with this. joe, I'd suggest you stick to the debate instead of flagrently tossing around comments like that. If you can't engage in debate, stay out instead of criticizing other people's motives. Your opinions are respected, but respect others' as well.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Chrebet from the day he walked on. I hated what Edwards did with him (or didn't) but then I have a lot of opinions about Edwards anyway.

Moronic post, huh? Is that the best you can do, really? Any idot can come into a thread to and be a dick throwing around insults. Does that make you feel special or is just an attempt to mask your inability to produce something worth while? How about putting together some coherent arguements instead of your nonsense babble and adolesent name calling?

Just because the word assinine has the word ass in it doesn't mean you have to spell it with dollar signs. What's with you? You aren't going to offend anyone by saying ass.
