I am REALLY hoping that Chan can wring something out of Geno. To be honest and fair, drive was never a problem with Geno. I got the understanding that he was a gym rat and basically lived at the facility. Smarts...to be quite poignant, defense recognition, is where the real problem is at. Either getting him that football intelligence.......or giving him a simpler system to run is probably more accurate. If we can get Geno Smith to be a 60% passer with HALF the turnovers we really will have something. At the very least we'll have an average to just barely above average passer to go along with our top defense. That formula has and will win Super Bowls.

And it all STARTS with the last bolded item. No FAKE competitions in camp! Rex Ryan will forever hold a soft spot in my heart. Just love the guy...The Bills fans really got a top notch coach/man. BUT...his loyalty to his existing players, if he doesn't correct it, will be his downfall. It was here...the "competitions" here were a full on and out SHAM and, IMO, a real part of why Idzik is no longer here as well. Especially considering his whole mantra was Draft and Competition. I am so looking forward to our new regime actually IMPLEMENTING COMPETITION! I'm hungry for it and it WILL make us a better team. And...at QB...competition is 100% what's needed to either weed Geno out or finally push him to where he could be. There is no question the kid has the talent to play the position. I don't care what people say about that Miami game last year. Fluke...one time thing...I don't care. He did it...which means the potential is there. It's the job of our new head people to get him to perform more like that on a consistent basis. How fuckin' fantastic would it be to find out by end of year 2015 that we actually DO have our Franchise QB on the roster? I know I'd sign up for that!

Andy Daulton and the Cinncinati Bengals say you're wrong.

Not gonna happen, he was in MM offense for 2 years and barely elevated his game to average. Now they are implementing a new scheme and some how we have to wait another 2 years for him to get comfortable.

He's a bum, 2 or 3 good games don't mean he has potential and you can't erase all the garbage he put out there because of the Miami game.

Below is a portion of his scouting report, on the money.

Nawrocki then makes a strong prediction about Smith’s future. “Smith is a gimmick, overhyped product of the system lacking the football savvy, work habits and focus to cement a starting job and could drain energy from a QB room,” Nawrocki writes. “Will be overdrafted and struggle to produce against NFL defensive complexities.”

Smith will indeed be drafted high, due to the possibility that his positives eventually will outweigh his negatives, allowing him to become the one thing every team needs: A franchise quarterback. If enough teams agree with Nawrocki, however, Smith may not be drafted as high as some would believe.

Great points! I'm just tossing a little hope...that's all. Of course, I'm hoping we get a serviceable F/A vet in house and go that route. Has anyone given thought to Vick hanging around and being productive under Gailey's system or have we basically decided he's washed up and should be gone?

This, as well, is not including drafting SOME type of young guy for competition too. And, I'm not completely giving up on Simms being a factor either. Who knows what he's been able to learn with 2 years on the team...MAYBE he can be in the mix...who knows.

    Shrimp creole?

I grilled some lamb chops. Gnocchi and asparagus on the side.

Chianti is for peasants. Live a little.

I am at heart a peasant. Been drinking a Petit Syrah lately like its water, switched up to the chianti yesterday.

Do you do the baby loin lamb chops? I prefer them so much more than the rib chops. Olive oil, sea salt, cracked pepper and fresh rosemary.

Snow day today, making chicken marsala and saffron risotto with sautéed asparagus.

Clean slate my @ss! Geno has been arguably the worst starting QB in football the past two seasons. Let's pretend those seasons never happened a clean slate!

    Holy

Replace Geno as the starter it shouldn't be that hard to do then get another QB in here to compete with him for the backup QB spot.
