Pissed? I would say scared shitless! Ngata is one very large man! He may start humping at the leg but he will finish where ever he wants to! Also, I noticed that at no time was Brady's hair pout of place.
I'd like to respect him as one of the great QBs to ever play the game, but Montana, Manning, Unitas, Elway, Favre, Marino, etc - they never did gay shit like this. They all had a pair of balls. I just can't respect a QB who's looking for flags when he's hit because he didn't like the way it felt. Great QB, just a little queer.
Well, in his defense...Haloti probably is riding up with a bigger appendage than the strap on Jizelle pokes him with
I don't think Brady thought it was a late hit... I think he thought that maybe Ngata either came in a little low (below the belt, which I think is not legal) or speared a bit with his helmet (which, in this pic, seems possible). Either way he chalked it up to a heat of the moment thing and acknowledged that "they were all clean hits yesterday." http://itiswhatitis.weei.com/sports/newengland/football/patriots/2010/10/18/transcript-of-tom-brady-on-dc/ I’ll tell you one guy who thinks it’ll be different next time and that’s Terrell Suggs, your pal. Remember what he said after the game, that you “better hope he doesn’t see us again.” And he vowed to “smash you” if he saw you again in the playoffs. Well, he had his chance. Maybe if he gets another chance he can try to back those words up. But he had a chance yesterday. You know, we’ve played those guys a lot, and they’ve beat us one time in all the times that I’ve played them. They talk a lot for beating us once in nine years. He was also asked about the conversation you guys were having. Two things we need to know: What were you upset about? You made a big play, you got the pass off, and you got up angry. Suggs said you called him “sizzle.” That’s pretty creative, whether you said it or he made that up. I think he made that up. I was pretty pissed off all day yesterday. I was mad at a bunch of different points. It’s the emotions of the game. At the officials, at him, at one of your teammates, who? Because you completed the pass. I know, that was a big play too. We had a penalty and then a delay of game. Then we hit a 24 yarder to Gronk. That was a big play. I don’t know what I was mad about. I think I was mad at the two previous penalties and I just got, the moment of the game kind of got to me. It was a clean hit though, right? You weren’t upset about that? Yeah, no it was a clean hit. It was a clean hit. They were all clean hits yesterday.
I heard on of the MNF eggheads last night suggesting a "strike zone" for where players can be hit. I forget which one but just remember thinking he should be boiled in acid.
Really no surprise brady is a cry baby suggs laid the lumber on him. A tough qb would have said "Well even though you creamed me I still completed the pass bitch" then jogged down the field looking to run the next play. I hate brady.
In what way, shape or form has Ngata "speared a bit with his helmet" when it's abundantly clear from the picture that the crown of the helmet is to Brady's side as he tackles him round the waist (so not low) and with the ball still in Brady's hand (so not late)? The fact is that he's throwing a tantrum and I agree completely with NDMick - in terms of both talent and achievement he's one of the all time greatest, but it's hard to respect him on a level with the likes of Montana or Manning when he behaves like such a whiny bitch on the field. He needs to man up.
It must really suck to see such a pussy QB basically own your team's division for a decade or so. Just sayin'... if he really is so soft like you say, that wouldn't reflect too well on the Jets. Right? I mean, they can't beat a softie?!
Look, he said it himself... he was caught up in the emotions of the game. I'm sure he was pretty pissed (at his line) that Ngata basically got a free run at him. Do I approve of his little flagellating tantrum? Most certainly not, but I do like seeing the competitive fire return a little. He hasn't shown that in a while. I'm not sure I agree with your "abundantly clear" statement... haven't you watched games where one replay angle shows one thing, and a different angle shows another? I'm not saying he speared him, I'm trying to figure out why Brady was so pissed over it. The man's taken plenty of massive hits without a complaint. Obviously he thought something happened that merited a flag. (At least at the time.)
I just hate that guy and yes it does have to do with the fact that he worked us over for so long. It just seems like after the knee he is looking for flags. He never did that before the knee. If that reflects on the Jets so be it that was then this is now. So I would say he was not a softie then but he is evolving into one.
someone can be a whining pussy and soft and still be great at their position, neither of which reflects negatively on the Jets other than the fact that they didn't have the foresight to draft him, like every other team in the league, which thus isn't a negative at all. one has nothing to do with the other. if that is your only defense to the accusation that he is a whining bitch, either you can't formulate an reasonable argument in defense of him or you simply know he is and know there is no real defense to the accusation.
You're taking it way too seriously/literally. It was a tongue-in-cheek reaction to, "That pussy who's been kicking our asses for 10 years is a pussy." Huh. So what does that make you? Getting your ass kicked by a pussy? (All in good fun here, man.) I'm not going to defend Brady as a person... never have. I don't care what he does with his personal life, I don't care about the Justin Bieber haircut, etc. He's probably not the kind of guy I'd like to sit down and drink beers with. But I don't care. He's a hell of a quarterback, and he's not a criminal off the field. That's really all that matters to me as a fan. And as far as this episode from last Sunday goes, I already said, like Brady did, that it was probably a heat-of-the-moment reaction to things. My guess is that if he could take back those few seconds, he would. I have no intention nor desire to defend it, so... no need to drop that challenge. I'm just wondering if any of you - if Sanchez ever did anything like that - would have the balls to acknowledge, as I have with Brady, that it was bush league. You'd probably be talking about what an awesome competitor it is, and how it's nice to see that kind of intensity from your players.
Well, I don't know what he was looking for on the Ngata hit... but obviously, in hindsight, he realizes it was a non-call. He's only called for flags twice since coming back from injury, including this one. The last one was also against Baltimore and, IMO, that was legit. (Talking about the game from last year.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnmGSMccDuU Suggs, intentionally or not, went at his knees. His left (injured) knee in particular. Intention is not important when it comes to penalties, we all know that. If you watch with an objective eye, you can see the ref going for the flag before Brady gestures to him.
