No, but if you're blaming Cam Newton, than, like I said, you didn't watch the game. His offensive line is one of the worst lines I've seen in the NFL. They were absolutely terrible last night. He made so many throws off his back foot in fear of being leveled. He made a couple mistakes but that loss was more than his play. A lot more
Sanchez looked terrible during his last days here. Now he's with Chip Kelly who understands QBs and has weapons at his disposal. This is the exact opposite of the Cam Newton situation. I'd "buy low" if possible. He's not perfect but I'd bet on his talent and get a QB guru on the Jets staff.
Cam's way too slow in the pocket- his instincts are bad, elongated throwing motion...has terrible habits, is wildly inaccurate with no touch on his passes and basically fumbles every time he's sacked. He does the same dumb back peddle Geno does at any sense of pressure. He's not a good QB right now and I'd prefer he not play for the Jets. I think with Cam you basically have to start him from scratch and unteach all the bad habits he's developed..and there's a ton of them.
if were going to start a ridiculous hypothetical thread about a player we have no chance in hell getting, why not Andrew Luck?
I've always liked Newton and wouldn't be opposed to having him on the Jets. Panthers need defensive help so we may have some bargaining chips at our disposal .
You crazy, but then again so is Idzik. Fortunately, while no doubt incompetent, the Panthers brass are not crazy. They are not putting their young pro bowl franchise QB on the block. By the way interesting to see how one of the greatest stud athletes in the game has been (temporarily) diminished by the brutal and relentless abuse he has had to endure this year.
If we got Cooper, Strong or Funchess and some OL help, we would be a SB contender with Cam. But he isn't coming here.
He'd be the most talented quarterback we've had in a very long time. I'm not sure about his character, though. He seems cocky and I've always gotten the impression he thinks he's better than he is.
The problem is that the Raiders forever ruined the market by making that absurd trade for Carson Palmer. Trading for Cam would realistically cost a fortune.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter · 7h7 hours ago Most QB sacks or hits the past 4 season: Cam Newton 531 Ryan Fitzpatrick 272 Alex Smith 257 Joe Flacco 254 Damn, No thanks. Talk about damaged goods.
That's not true at all imo. Everyone in the league knows it was a horrible trade, and any gm demanding 4 1st round picks and using that Carson Palmer trade as justifying the demand would be brain dead.
Yeah, but what happens is, you start with a ridiculous demand, the other side starts with a reasonable offer, and you negotiate to an offer predictably in the middle of the two and you are still left with a lopsided deal. Same thing happens with free agents and money. I guarantee we would have to grossly overpay to get a guy like Cam.
Well there is no way in hell that ever happens, so this is a pointless debate, but you're in general right. In a hypothetical trade for Cam, my guess is that we would have to send 3 1st round picks. I could see the next 2 1st round picks, and multiple players too.
