Another win today and we are edging closer to that NL Central title. Brewers are in action now agaisnt Smoltz and the Braves so we have a great chance to end the day 2 1/2 games ahead of them going into the final straight of the season.

Soriano had a very nice day today with 2 Homers and 5 RBI's.

    LETS GO CUBBIES

You should pick up the whole Cubs lineup they are hammering the ball so far this month, think we have hit something like 36 homers in 3 weeks and 8 in the first 2 games of this series.

Marmol has deffinately been a breath of fresh air this year, his 1.22 ERA(Or around there) and the fact that he has a brilliant record at stranding inherited runners means he is one of the elite set up men in the game.

With Atlanta 2-0 up agaisnt the Brewers (Who are yet to record a hit) behind SMoltz this could be a very good day to be a Cubbies fan.

Brewers were taken to extra innings and then tex singled in the winning run for Atlanta in the 11th. 4-3 Win over the Brewers, very good day for me.

    Fantastic stuff.

Rich Hill becomes the FOURTH Cubby pitcher with double-digit wins this year, it's a credit to the whole team that we're where we are.

Back in June I thought a .500 record would be enough to win the division. That looks unlikely, but in any event, the Cubs are somehow going to come from about 10 below to finish anywhere up to 5 or 6 or more above.

Just hope we keep doing what we're doing and Atlanta gets the sweep this weekend.

Good times, let's enjoy them before it all goes horribly wrong.

lol stay positive by scottish cubbie buddy :)

After the Cubs game finished i switched to watch the Brewers and when they took a 3-2 lead in the 9th i thought about switching off but i stayed with it and those Atlanta Braves came back, was delighted.

The pitching both starting and relief has been brilliant this year, Lilly was worth every penny, and Marmol well what can you say about that kid.

Brewers just lost to the Braves and we are 8-0 in the bottom of the 8th. so Barring a disastrous collpase in the 9th we will take a 3.5 game lead in the central tonight.

    One step closer

    Brewers lose again !!

Cubs up 8-0 through 7.5 at home !!!

Looking an awful lot like a 3.5 game lead. In our hands now...

The Brewers are pathetic. It's the second worst collapse I've seen after the 1995 Angels.

Also, it's their second collapse of the season, unless you're running it all into one?

Hopefully the Cubs can relax today, and if all goes to plan the Cards will do us a favour by taking 2 off of Milwaukee and allowing us to clinch before the Cincy series by winning 2 of 3 at FLA.

    Yeah right.

Were the Chicago Cubs, that scenario is far too easy and wouldnt cause 1 millio heart attacks world wide. Thats not how they do it on the North side lol :)

Will be watching the St Louis game.

As expected, Cards lay down to the Brewers. Expect more of the same all week long.
