U are right... we do have a tough game ahead of us. Difference is we don't have Devin Smith to ruin it this time ^_^
The Jets are playing for the right to go to the playoffs. I can't see the Jets overlooking any team at this point.
Any division game is always a tough test, especially on the road. I feel good for several reasons, both Fitz and Chandalf know the Buffalo elements and how to play/call plays for that environment. I think Bowles is the right guy for this situation, he is not going to get too amped up or lose sight of what the team needs to do in order to be successful. Also, you have veteran guys like Marshall and Fitz, who have never been to the playoffs. They will be focused and determined to get the job done. I do not think the Rex motivation is a factor. In NY Rex had some currency built up from the AFC Championship game runs that had many players believing in him and would "run through a wall for him". He does not have that in Buffalo. I don't think Mario Williams and co. are emptying the tank against us next week. Could Buffalo, knock us off our game - sure they could, if we are not careful. However, I can easily see them throwing out a game like the Giants did last night.
I agree with everything except the Giants game portion, the Giants were playing hard on defense, the Vikings earned that victory, they chipped away at the Giants until the Gmen had nothing left. I don't think the Bills are going to be so indifferent about this game that they will go through the motions like its a Pro Bowl game. The jets are going to have to wear them out so that by the end of the 3rd quarter they Bills will be ready to pack it in. I really hope that TB does not go back to his old habit of chasing points, if he does and fails it will inspire the Bills to play ball.
Bowles shut the bills down badly in the 2nd half and most of first half outside of demario's break down in coverage on karlos williams. long as we stay turnover free like we've been for the most part lately we should be good and control that game from start to finish.
I'm hoping Rex is true to form and amps his team up into a foaming at the mouth frenzy. Maybe he'll break out "Cryin Ryan" again just for kicks. Either way, I'm certain TB will have the Jets prepared and disciplined. This isn't the same team Rex beat earlier in the season. The Jets seem all in on TB's philosphy and demeanor. You saw happiness but no over the top celebrations after the game yesterday and that should be the biggest indicator of where this team is at mentally. It may be close, it may not, but the Jets will win and get in the playoffs. "This isn't personal, this is business..."
Did you see the Marshal post game interview? He told the guys on the bench that if they win, they should not act as if they won the SB. I was impressed by that statement, it shows that they are not too high on accomplishing nothing.
Next week will set the tone in Buffalo for a couple of seasons. Somebody has to go after a 7-9 season, and firing the GM and keeping Rex doesn't seem to work very well. So the people who have bought into Rex's scheme will be playing to keep him around. It's not clear how many of those guys there are, although the QB is clearly one of them and Tyrod Taylor should be bringing his A game.
Jets had the easiest schedule this season. Won't be so easy to get 11 wins next year. Now is the time for a deep PO run!!!
This thread went all over the place, I believe we all realize this game is not a "slam dunk", for all the reasons stated. I have confidence in Bowles and staff to game-plan, prepare the team and give us a good shot to win this "play-in" game. Jets 21-17

Take it when you can get it. Giants won a Super Bowl off of 9-7 and they beat a 18-0 team in the process.
With very rare exceptions ignore is your friend. I've only been truly happy with a few bannings and they were all because the poster was either a total jerk or you just could not avoid them no matter what you did and threads got out of control in the process.
