DT Kris Jenkins indicated he has a right calf strain suffered during a play as he pushed out of his stance. He heard a "pop-pop" and then felt tightness.

Im not sure the words "strain" and "pop" go hand in hand...

It's a strained calf and he's out for a few days. No big deal.

That's a painful nagging type injury that locks up on you instantly and usually it hurts just to walk when you put any pressure on that leg. However with the right stretching and the Jets training staff it's not something that can't be fully healed within a week or two. Another reason to pickup a solid NT to spell Jenkins throughout the season.

ummm...... Jenkins going down for a fucking "hang nail" is a big deal around here.

This guy needs to be indestructible for this defense to be successful this year.

Mike Tannenbaum is now 0-4 in drafting a serviceable NT.

Plus no NT can play 100% of plays, that's ludicrous.

Yeah, you really never know, but it's at least better than the alternative of knowing that he'll be out for several weeks.

Hopefully this gives Green and Pouha some positive reps with the first team so they can effectively spell Jenkins this season. Obviously, I have more faith in the former doing so than the latter.

To be honest, as long as its not a bad injury, it could help us if anything. He was worn out by the end of the season last year. Him taking a couple weeks off in TC is no big deal

At least we will be able to see if we have a decent back-up for Jenkins - if not we need to get out there at get one asap!!!

We'll play more 4-3 if Jenkins is out for an extended period of time. I don't think we have a suitable NT to anchor the 3-4 outside of Jenkins.

Hoping and praying this isn't major.

apparently it will be a couple days. Hopefully he doesn't have this nag him the whole season. We REALLY need a serviceable backup, hopefully Howard Green can do that.

Good. He shouldn't be practicing anyway. Need him as fresh as possible against Houston.

Sit out buddy, take a month vacay out in Antigua or something, and come back hungry. :metal:
