Aaron Beasley and yes I think they are. I went to the game where Vinny got taken out and Penny came off the bench for the first time. their fans are pretty shitty.
that would be crazy to get rid of a QB like him. i'm not saying he's the best or anything, but he definitely showed a lot of heart picking himself up time and time again in the shootout that was last nights game. he's definitely a starter in this league, so i'm sure someone will throw some money at him, should the jags go for tebow.
The problem with drafting Tebow is that the novelty of having a local playing in the NFL will wear off after he stinks up the joint with his QB play, it's like sticking a square peg in a round hole. I hope they do the right thing and draft players that will fill their needs and make them a winning team, that will in turn fill the seats.
...that's IF Tim Tebow is a bad quarterback. I hope he proves everyone wrong. I know Jack Del Rio's been a decent coach for the Jags, but I think they'll clean house after this season. Especially now that they'll miss the playoffs. You bring in a new GM, a new head coach, and you build that team around Maurice Jones-Drew and Tim Tebow. It's fairly obvious that Tim Tebow isn't ready to play quarterback in the pros YET. The Jags should keep Garrard as their starter, and use Tebow as a package player during his first few years in the league.
If they want Tebow to bring in tickets why not move him off the QB position and use him like a Harvin type player? Getting rid of a good QB like Garrard and putting Tebow in there could be a massive fail if Tebow doesn't pan out there.
Yeah, until halfway through the 2010 season when he tries to shoulder through an NFL linebacker and has his brains knocked out his ears.
Isn't the draft like.....4 or 5 months away? And aren't the draft positions nowhere near solidified yet? And isn't the combine pretty far in the future as well? And free agency hasn't started yet, has it? And aren't draft "experts" wrong like 75% of the time...... Just sayin'
This is going to be the major problem for the Jacksonville Jaguars if they do draft Tebow. If Tebow does develop into at least a solid QB, it will likely take just long enough for the fans to lose interest and see the team shipped to LA.
just because they draft Tebow doesn't mean that have to give up on Garrard right away. Remember Tebow's freshman season at Florida when Chris Leak got most of the snaps and Tebow had a few packages with a lot of draws and options involved. Well it won a national championship in Flordia, could be the scenario for the first year or two of Tebow's career if Jacksonville picks him
Any team that drafts Tebow should be willing to run the wildcat 25-35% of their snaps for every game.
So what? If it works, then it won't matter. Tebow is the type of player that can revolutionize the way a position is played. Yea, he could crash and burn, but I like his chances.
It's all over down here that Jacksonville threw the idea out in the public that they would consider drafting Tebow. Even Governor Charlie Crist jumped in and said he supports it. If Jacksonville is bold enough to publicly say they're thinking about it, there's a good chance they'll probably do it. Tebow is more popular than Jesus Christ down here, and Jacksonville needs to sell tickets badly.
Wasn't that what Vick and Young have already tried to do and done to some extent. I don't see a difference.
Vick and Young were run-first QBs with passing options. Vick would run every chance he got, regardless of his passing opportunities. Young was much the same way but has since become a throwing QB with great athleticism. The idea for Tebow revolutionizing the position would be as a ball carrier who could pass at will, sort of like what Ronnie Brown is with the Dolphins only more designed throws.
