31 is ancient in NFL terms. When the guy has declined two years running it says something, and not just about the QB. Davis decline looks exactly like what you'd expect out of a guy going post-prime with a few nagging injuries.
So did I, but every time I said it, some dumbass would tell me there wasn't any TE on the roster and none worth looking at. Instead, we stick with 2 untalented TEs and keep crap players like Coples and Bohanon on the roster for no reason while other teams sift for gold in the FA market. Stupid argument, but it needed to be smacked.
31 is ancient when you play the averages game like you are so wont to do. 31 is middle age when you're talking about skill players at the elite level. And that's what Davis is. And you're going to find that out the second half of this season.
Its to bad Amaro had to go and get injured,I was dying to see how his second year was gonna be.....He got injured at a time in the pre season when there weren't any other obvious options to replace him
Davis hasn't been close to elite since 2013. His best season was in 2009. Now he's going to be playing with another aging star who is having issues this year in Peyton Manning. They might sink or swim together but the most likely result is that they'll tread water the way they were individually.
Hahaaaa. I just realized something. You are a guy that thinks Colin Kaepernick is worth trading for. Definitely not a coinkydink here! What else happened in 2013? Oh yes, Kaep got the full time starting job for the 49ers! Let's you and I both pay attention to the career arcs of Kaep and Vernon Davis closely, Br4d. Let's see who sinks and who swims.
This one makes sense from the Broncos stand point. They have a Methuselah at QB who one hit away from getting a bolt in his neck. Their window is now. With our QB situation, we don't even know if ours is open. Getting an old TE would be pointless....
When I was a kid it seemed like every team had a Todd Christensen or Russ Francis. Now I can count the amount of great TE'S on one hand. Wtf happened?
Denver is dumb cuz they already have a better TE on the roster, Virgil Green is a Julius Thomas that blocks like a beast but they treat him like a bench scrub. I say trade for that guy.
Because they wanted this thread to be started following by tons of skepticism about the front office after an offseason where fans were raving about them.
A malcontent is just what this locker room needs. Amirite or what? So he was unhappy with Kaep being so fucking stupid. All of a sudden he is going to be in nirvana when Geno is being just as stupid? Hello? Fitz ain't that dumb, but then he won't be making the most of Vernon either so I don't see much point there.
The fact that we lost our number 1 and 3 tie for the year and the best we could do was Kellen Davis and thin air to replace then should have told us all we need to know. We need another te but right now we probably need a lob with the ability to blitz more, qb withstanding.
Even before he got hurt Jace Amaro was being marginalized so yeah it's pretty obvious the Gailey offense isn't TE friendly.
Nothing wrong with this. He has never used a TE anywhere he was. Im fine with using marshall/ decker as our TE when need be.
