Favre, his gray hair, and the Packers are going to make the playoffs...as annoying as it is every off-season wondering if he's going to hang it up or not, he obviously made the right choice to stay in the leage.

Manning and Colts, Brady and Patriots, and Tony Romo and the Cowboys are the three best teams in the league. That's why ESPN has a lot of stories on them. Also, LT is probably the best player in football.

Reggie Bush is very exciting to watch, and even though the Saints aren't good this year, what they did last year was pretty damn amazing.

Don't forget, ESPN is a TV channel, they are all about what's hot...just like the BCS, it's all about the money.

I seem to like Sportscenter, even if they don't talk about the Jets, especially this year. If you don't like ESPN, you can always watch the FOX Sunday show with Terry Bradshaw.

    Probably the Champs this year.

The only legit competition to the above.

One of the greatest QBs in the history of the league, who is still winning games, and has led his team to a very respectable record in a terrible conference.

I don't see much about the 'Aints these days. But there is probably still a small love affair with one of the most overrated RBs in the current era.

LT is still one of the most talented players in the sport. Dumping a good head coach who couldn't get over the hump will hurt your club, but he's still the epitome of what an NFL RB should be.

The only legit competition to the Pats in the final game of the year.
    ---------

So except for the Chargers and Saints, I'd expect the rest to dominate the news. Why would they put on a positive story about the Jets? There are none.

People who don't watch PTI hate Tony for his work on MNF..... But he and Wilbon are as good a combination of sports knowledge and entertainment value as there is on TV

Well when the 4-7 Ravens got two first down on their first drive he was going on about how this is the night. I guess a team with 4 wins and 6 straight losses can beat them but a team with 3 wins has no shot at even staying within 10 touchdowns. I can't stand Kornheiser.

And by no means do I expect him to say the Jets may beat them. Just a little respect. This is an NFL team and we aren't much worse than the two teams who almost beat the Pats (and should have beat them) the past two weeks.

Kornheiser didn't say that. You're misrepresenting his words.

What he said was more to the effect of "as a journalist, speaking on behalf of all of the journalists in the house tonight, it has the feeling that this could be the night."

And when he said it, he sounded almost hopeful, so it wasn't like he was just trying to laud the Ravens.

Why should anyone respect us? Seriously.

This season, we are a dismal team, who is as bad as their record. We aren't as good as Baltimore. They beat us. So did the Eagles. Both by a TD. On top of that, between exposing Cameragate, cheering for Chad going down, empty stadiums (unless it's packed with Steeler fans), and YouTube clips of public exposure, we're fortunate we don't see our team on ESPN more often. If we were, it wouldn't be for any good reason.

When you're a winner, you're on ESPN. When you're a loser, you hope there's no news to report.

I'm pretty sure he said something more to this nature "you know speaking for the journalists all of us are thinking after they held the Patriots to a field goal and MGahee rushes for two first downs that this could be the night". I don't think many journalists were thinking that at that point.

Like I said I don't expect them to praise us but the Ravens are just as bad as we are this year. They beat us by a td because Justin McCareins can't catch and we decided not to block for Kellen or let him throw the ball until the 4th quarter. He's just talks out of his @ss half the time. Honeslty he's only slightly above Dennis Miller in my opinion. Not knowledge wise but as far as bad announcing goes.

i want the pats to go 16-0, and the phish to go 0-16. i posted this before, but ill say it again.

the phish going winless the same year their 72 record is broken is priceless. that will cause don shula to eat the shit sandwich ive been hoping he will choke on for some time. no more champagne for him and the rest of those assholes.

that, coupled with brett favre breaking marinos records will make this my favorite year of football ever. i hate the pats, but i hate dan marino, don shula, and the dolphins more. it would crush miami to have these three things happen by themselves. the fact they can all happen in the same year is fantastic.

the jets arent going anywhere this year, and ill live with 3-13. as long as the above can happen...if the pats do lose a game, id want it to be the jets who beat them. but i think that the jets losing the rematch this season could have an even more profound statement in miami than a win could.

can you tell i hate miami?

No way. Dennis Miller sucked so bad. Kornheiser is awesome, not at commentating, but on PTI and as a journalist.

agreed, he is good on PTI, but he needs to stay as far away from a booth as possible. Dennis Miller was used as comical relief, a failed attempt...

That would be nice, but the Ravens defense is head and shoulders above ours and they were playing with more fire last night than I've seen the Jets play with for the past 2 years. I will be rooting my ass off when the Jets take the field but I just don't see it.

Bring Herm and Donnie Henderson back to fire up the D for one game? Instead of the penguin and whatever the f*** Bob Sutton is supposed to be?

To address the original poster: I think Kornheiser said what he said not so much because he thinks the Jets suck that badly, but rather the Pats will be that pissed off at the Jets after losing their 1st rounder from the first go around.
