Do you remember where the President made his comments? In Alabama in a rally to gin up support for Luther Strange. It was a speech taken from the George Wallace play book. He was trying to give Strange cred in his race against Roy Moore. It was a political stunt to gin up his alt right base who were in Roy Moore's camp. It didn't work for Strange. It obviously did work for a lot of people as ratings started to dip. There's no doubt about it. The Alt right was a major part of ginning up this issue and anti-kaep attacks. The President brought it up because they are also a big part of his base. Many Americans on both sides didn't care either way until the President got into it. “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!’” the president said at a rally for Republican senator Luther Strange, who is running in a special election next week to remain in the seat vacated by attorney general Jeff Sessions. “You know, some owner is going to do that. He’s going to say, ‘That guy that disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it [but] they’ll be the most popular person in this country.”
the whole thing was extremely weird. Kaepernick hasn't played a down of football in almost 3 years now, you'd thought he played just last month. Fox News would run Kaepernick stories as their lead story pretty regularly in 2017 & 2018. Like what? all thats going on in our world and this dude is what we wanna talk about? It was weird. And of course, lotttttts of tweeting from people you'd think would have better things to do. But we knew that was weird
Do you remembeer WHEN he made those comments? In Alabama? More that a YEAR later! The die had already been cast by then--the shit had already hit the fan for the NFL and its fans. This was big news WAY before Trump jumped in. Stop. Trump didn't start this. And if you don't think every politician plays to the crowd, I guess you've never heard Pelosi, Schumer, that wingnut AOC, ALL of them right and left. Not condoning it but its what they do.
that is exactly our point. the kaepernick stuff kept going and going and going because the reality tv idiot wouldn't let it go- - year(s) later the NFL should've came out and told the idiot to shut his fuckin mouth about their business. Instead they went the route of the weak. NO balls. And that's why we are where we are
Kaep never played as bad as Nathan Peterman, Josh Johnson and other QBs in this league that came in for spot duty. You have to also remember the turmoil of the 49ers post Harbaugh, the season after he left was a dumpster fire. I highly doubt his record during that last 49ers season was the true reason he wasn't signed. At worst he could've been a backup. How much money does Chase Daniel make to not throw passes? I am sure some coaches wanted him, but owners would not sign off on it.
He ginned it up so did Fox and they kept ginning it up because it resonated with the Alt right who vote. Pelosi and Schumer don't have Steven Miller on their staff and didn't bring Steve Bannon into the White House. There's a difference between the Alt right and main stream Republicans and Conservatives. It was a huge element in this ugly incident. Kaep was naive in not understanding what he was bringing on to himself. He did some amazingly dumb stuff like the pigs on his sneakers. He at least has grown up and is now acting responsibly. The other side of this is largely built on racism that will never act responsibly. You can deny it all you want and I'm not calling you a racist. It's baked in the cake on this one. As far as snowflakes. I don't need a safe place and I'm not running and hiding. That doesn't mean you get to hide behind a very ugly movement that's built on a very nasty brand of racism. Neither one of us knows Kaep personally. I'm not calling him a fraud you are. I'm not defending him kneeling either. Although I think people who freaked out about it and need a safe place are the left wing equivalent of snowflakes. Happy holidays, the war on Christmas continues...
Let's not forget the Vice President spending the peoples tax money to attend a game via expensive flight, only to bitch and leave when someone protested it, THEN made a BIGGER scene on social media (as if I care, but apparently he did).
My 97% sentence was related to businesses and individuals making lawsuit decisions based upon the bottom line. It appeared from your previous post you thought the NFL was just backing down and not looking at it from a profit loss perspective. So the NFL backed down but they backed down after figuring the effect on their bottom line. Did Kaepernick back down?
You are blinded by your hate. Folks were pissed off at Kaepernick for what he did not because of what Trump said. I get it, Orange Man bad. You’re passive aggressiveness is funny. You can’t even type his name you are so triggered. Btw, you know Kaepernick filed the collusion grievance LONG after you think people stopped talking about it. And it’s insulting to call Kaepernick an idiot, he was just misguided.
So it was all because of the Alt right racists. Lol. Good hardworking blue collar fans were pissed off about it long before Trump got involved. And us moderate conservatives don’t need safe places. We have jobs to go to.
I'm not typing his name because people like you and/or Stokes got so upset every time we talked bad about your hero that it became a forum rule not to talk about him. as you've reminded me in other threads... quite ironic in person- - at applebees - - I'd gladly give you a piece of my mind about the reality tv guy. 2 for $20 and no passive aggression
No, I believe the NFL believed that good honest hardworking fans thought he was shitting on the flag and shitting on the nation, therefore impacting their bottom line. If they made money and nobody objected to them hiring serial killers they would do it.
Passive aggressiveness on full display. Hero, worship, reality TV star hahahaaa. I think you wanted to delete that last part. So I’m guessing you’re so triggered you want to fight about stuff on the internet? That’s what intelligent people never resort to. Fisticuffs when they get triggered on the internet.
Agreed he was misguided and naive. So why exactly were people so pissed off at him? He was protesting against unarmed African-Americans being shot by police. Who could disagree with that? Are you actually implying that the Outrage and Hate was because people were dumb enough to think he was protesting against the USA, Veterans or the flag? The outrage was fake manufactured none-sense by right wing interests including the President.
