I doubt it. I looked at his post history with the new account, and he doesn't come across like a closet-jets fan.
I like his field leadership, competativeness and generally good decision making. He shows a lot of maturity for a rookie.
I have no problem padding this guys stat book for a couple years then trading him for a 2nd rounder. Steal in the 7th round
Another account for TBDF? Give him credit.. at least he didn't use St Petersburg Joe or Bronx Joe. Oh wait you said respected poster....
He's gunna have to see regular season time for that to happen, unless he can be the next charlie whitehurst trade.
What IF (And this is BIG if)... ... in two years, McElroy SEEMS playing better than Sanchez, what do we do?
it's JHTJ. Easy there, Quickdraw. I want to speak with him first before I make any decisions. He's going to receive a ban....whether it's permanent, that's TBD.
I like McElroy, he's a smart, tough kid. He wore #12 in college after Joe Namath and worked with one of Sanchez's old coaches from HS I believe. The strongest arm on the team is Brunell, but I'd love to see G-Mac as Sanchez's backup
If that ever were to happen, which it won't. It would be a fantastic problem to have. My hope is in the next few years we'll be able to showcase his talents at the end of the year to rest Sanchez for the playoffs and when we do so he plays lights out. Do a Kolb like deal, that would be the best scenario. Or some high picks.
I'd like to see a bigger body of work from him. I watched the whole Houston game, but didn't catch the second half of the Cincinnati one. From what I saw, he has some potential but his arm strength is not very good.
I think his on field confidence, leadership presence and awareness are off the charts. He would look that much better with first teamers around him. For a rookie with such limited NFL experience in general and familiarity with our playbook in particular, I find GM's performance thus far to be extremely impressive.
When you look at Sanchez and Brunell, it makes perfect sense for McElroy to be the third guy right now. Unless I'm missing something. On a related note, I watched Kellen Clemens play a series for the Redskins and he was pretty good. Just didn't finish the drive as usual and they kicked a FG. I was rooting for him, though, he might get some time there.
