No one here is happy with the putrid record, no one. But to get mad at a kid , a rookie just out of college, playing as hard as he can while totally out of position, literally negating his strengths, because his comments were not Pulitzer savvy is laughable. I don't think he was implying at all that they were proud of their record, but that they played as hard as they could and lost some tough games. Poor choice of words, probably something he heard from his CS in trying to pump them up. The real problem is the crappy team we fielded and the leadership that fielded it. So fuck, may be, just may be that is the best 3 win team courtesy of our leadership by putting together a non competitive squad out there. May be he should have been more politically correct, or may be he should have said the truth, like how the fuck was anyone expected to win with such a shitty, porous secondary, and a one dimensional ineffective offense. I think he is a keeper, an asset that will make our team better. That's the kind of player I want. He gets paid to give us his best, not make media savvy comments. He plays with passion and plays to win. Wish I could say the same about our leadership.
So.. You can't be positive through confidence in yourself and team? You are saying that isn't possible? We as fans clearly know that this team has it's work cut out for them, things need to change, it was a bad year no doubt. If you look at the overall season, we had several chances to win a lot of those games, we got dominated in only two games. Matter of fact, we actually outplayed a number of these teams we've lost to throughout the season, games we surely should've won. Several games that we dominated on defense and had much more production on offense, yet, still lost. I don't think he is delusional at all, I think people just want to bitch to bitch. Getting mad at a player for shitting on fans, being negative, throwing people under the bus, that is to be expected. Comments like he made shouldn't deem stupid ass comments like I've seen in this thread. It is counterproductive and It just shows the overall mentality of this fan base overall.
Could someone please explain to me exactly what "We're the best 3-12 team in NFL history" actually means? I'm sure the BlueSkies contingent has some explanation. To me it sound like someone desperate for a positive spin but obviously, I'm missing the point along with damn near everyone else not named Pryor. Weren't the 2008 Detroit Lions the best 0-16 team in NFL history?
its pretty simple, he is saying that he doesn't think that this team is as bad as their 3-12 record would suggest and that they lost a lot of close games - the same way that the 2013 team was not as good as its record suggests or the 11-4 Arizona Cardinals are not as good as their record suggests - in other words the idea that your record tells you who you are as a team is a nonsense - as are most football sayings. the fact people are hating on a rookie trying to find something positive to say about his first season in the NFL says a lot about the state of this board.
I understand his point but he needs to understand that the context will get overlooked in favor of focusing on that one statement. To avoid the unnecessary press its best to keep those comments to a minimum.
