Plaxico is a gifted athlete, and could be a top 5 receiver if he really gave it all he had. No doubt he helped the Giants this year, but all one has to do is watch his performance against Carolina in the playoffs to see that consistant effort is an area of weakness for him.
You actually think him not having zero catches in a PLAYOFF game had to do with him not trying? Why would he play hard in the regular season just to not play in the playoffs? If anything he was frustrated at Manning's sheisty performance...
There were countless times when Plax cut off routes wayyyy short, and didn't give it his all. It was actually pretty visable on the screen, and I was shocked to hear Coach Coughlin actually criticizing him on his radio segment the next day.
He gets flustered way too easily and can easily be taken out of games, his zero catch performance against Car was typical big game Plex. Check out his playoff receiving #s. Physically he's a top WR but he has emotional issues that prevent him from becoming a legit elite WR.
I guess I will have to take what you said, but I really think his "not playing hard" is him being frustrated...maybe I am wrong though.
