The Jets for some reason wait until the post season to bring Man's Game. You should have remembered that, since your team was picking their broken teeth from the turf in the second round of the playoffs.
I think the OP is right. Everyone's gotta chill the fuck out. Yes, Eric Smith is garbage, yes Wayne Hunter is Garbage, and yes Brian Schottenheimer is a fucking moron but despite all of this we are an average to above average team. The way some people whine you'd think we were the fucking Rams. Three more pieces and we're back to a well above average to elite team. Fix the line(via draft or Free agency), get a deep threat( V-Jax, Colston, Braylon, draft pick) and bring in some speed and youth in the linebacker corps and we'll be fine. I mean jesus, people act like we're doomed for the next 10 years
'Wow' on many of your reading comprehension skills. And also... I get being frustrated with all the downers and SOJFs, but it's unreasonable to think that nobody should be disappointed, and what better place to voice it but here where others can commiserate? I think I have been in a room with another Jets fan twice in my life. I spend 99.9% of my football talking time defending the Jets, it's nice to have someplace to vent and not hear "FINALLY!!! You are ready to admit your team sucks and Taco Boy is not your QB... are you finally ready to join us Pats fans and like a REAL team?????"
Great overall post, one thing I wanted to focus on this. For multiple reasons, which you highlighted and showed why, we just have not had a team that can dominate a regular season. But, if we make the playoffs, teams would rather avoid us because we can hang around and win close games. We don't have a veteran players, or one star that can take over, but we play ugly and keep games uncomfortably close for other teams.
I swear, it is the oppo from the Herm years. After a while, I stopped worrying about the the playoff berth and agonized over post season production. Now, I agonize over making the playoffs, and have no stress about post season production. Being a Jets fan is like paranoid schizophrenia. And thanks for the compliment.
All these fucking turnovers leading to scores have killed us. The dropped punts, the pick 6's, the fumbles leading to touchdowns(happened to open the Chargers, Ravens, Eagles game...might be missing another game) We fix these problems come playoff time we will be hard to beat.
Basically if we don't beat ourselves and play a complete game in all 3 phases. Something we have not done this year. I'm not saying we can't put it all together, it is just frustrating seeing one side of the ball step only to cancel out the negative of the other side.
The truth....I agree completely....O LINE BLOWS=sanchez looking bad=defense on the field too much, gassed and looking average to below average. I think this says it all.
Keller has actually been pretty good. You can't say he's regressed. He isn't dropping as many passes, and he's made a few beautiful grabs. It's not as though he was Tony Gonzalez prior to this season.
Dont forget that last years the Packers were 'mediocre' and had to scratch their way into the playoffs, go on the road 4 times, and now here they are.
we hung in there w/ NE twice and we got blown out by Bal. Those are the only elite teams we faced and 2 times hanging in vs. one time not means we hang in more often than not, right? Maybe we would be one and done? most people thought that last year, no one thought we could make the title game either year. Let's allow the season to play out.
we were down 7 pts in the 4th, we had a chance if our D could have held NE(just like the 1st game). NE then socred and the game became a blowout but we were very much in both games in the 4th.
So we agree we got blown out. Who cares what the score was in the 4th quarter. Our defense sucks...so the argument "if our D held them..." really is meaningless. Our defense never holds good teams.
