I don't think he meant it as a "Put up or shut up.". But, more from natural curiosity. Let it go. It could be interesting. Personally, I won't vote. But, that's just me. And, I will look at the results.

Yes. That's right. Those guys are nutty.

Dan Marino believes a person must have played football in order to have a valid opinion. A couple years ago, after The Sporting News listed Brian Urlacher as the most overrated player in the league, Marino said he didn't care about the opinion of people who never played the game.
Although Marino was correct about Urlacher, it was a bad thing to say.

    Yes, he did.

Also, a couple years ago Rod Smith of the Broncos made comments very similar to the Marino comments.

Just to let you guys know the results of this pole is private so people can't see how you voted. Therefore, it is more of a public survey than a criticism of people who don't play football. I personally don't play football. I am in my senior year in high school and have played soccer for my whole life. However, that doesn't take away anything from my knowledge of football.

I want to play TE/DE as a junior next year....

Hopefully I'll be able to play on JV (I'm 6-0, 175ish)

I played TE/DE this year in my freshmen year. I have the size to possibly play TE on varsity next year if I add a few inches (5'8", 205).

currently high school. sophmore starting CB (5-8/165/4.69) on varsity. will i ever play for a college, probably not, but i can dream cant i.

I think it does matter if you've played or not but only when talking to certain people. for example that shlegal onside kick play a couple weeks back. there were some people blasting the guy and you could clearly tell theyve never played football before and how much of it is instincts.

That's a good height for being in HS. If you get your weight up with the aid of proper exercise, you'll make the team and be good if you have natural ability. Good luck.

Sandlot football kicked ass, especially in snow. One time a dude was running along the makeshift sideline. I didn't have to tackle him, just a push and he'd be out of bounds. I gave him an extra hard push because I didn't like him. He slid 5 extra yards right into the side of a tree. It was great.

The worst thing about playing organized football is not actually anything on the field, but rather the locker room smells. My locker room smelled like vinegar all the time. It was disgusting.

I was the best Wide Receiver in P.E. class, nobody could run with me.

Football coach of high school said I had to work on my blocking, and I said they need to block for me, i'm a receiver, i'm a playmaker, i'm a gamebreaker.

Throw me the ball 15 times a game and i'll score 8 of those times...

Coach said I need to work on my attitude...I said Throw Me The Damn Ball and we'll win games.

Hey Guy...I am best friends with Kevin Burkhardt from the WFAN station and I was there the other night in the studio when you called in ( I did not know it was you at the time until I saw it on this website). After you called in, he said, "they don't pay be enough money to listen to these whiney Yankee fans".

Who was whining? I simply said i'm not scared of DICE-K, nor will I ever be. The only players that scare me are Ortiz and Ramirez, and at times Varitek.

On the contrary, now Sox fans can no longer whine.
