Sunday’s during football season have always been like mini holidays for me. Cool fall days with the sounds of the NFL in the background create an energy that’s matched by no other Sundays throughout the year. The Jets suck, the fake crowd noise sucks, and streaming quality kinda sucks sometimes, but I no longer let it ruin my day. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose cheesecake over the Jets this year, either, but when I get home, there will be some NFL game on my TV. The good teams are still really interesting to watch.
Same here. Every Sunday we have family and friends over. We alternate weekly with who brings food. We have tons of beer and flip through Sunday Ticket all day. The Jets can suck balls every week, that's not stopping me from enjoying my football Sundays!
I gave up 55 times and came back, biggest insult to me was leaving Hofstra , no NY presence, thanks Woody
Philly does have good cheesesteaks. I like the original Tony Lukes, but there are other great places. Still not sure if the cheese whiz, provolone, or American cheese is the way to go yet. At least your bastard is a football fan, mine is a soccer fan. The biggest flopping sport in the world! The Jets will not go 0-16, please!
I think U should look at our record starting on 01/13/69 yes that Jan 13, 1969 not a mistype & then U can really barf
I was never on board with Gase. He was awful in Miami and even worse here. Going 6-2 down the stretch killed us last year or he'd probably be gone. With no fans this year we can't not show up or just boo the whole time. We'll see what happens Sunday but if we get blown out for a third week in a row if we had an owner who cares about this time will let Gase go after Thursday's game. If he lets this mess continue then clearly he doesn't care. Unfortunately as fans we might not watch the games, care etc be apathetic etc but this year the owners won't hear our voices or see it in the stands. If Gase somehow survives this year and is the coach next year then us as season ticket holders need to let our voices be heard. I think in 8 days we'll know alot more.
When they left Hofstra I was so pissed, I stopped yelling at my tv for 3 hours every Sunday, which made my wife happy
Sorry for your pain Brook But many here have been fans for decades and decades and have all Doubled Down on Apathy ..only to return and watch next scene of the continuous Train Wreck that is this team....ahaha I continue as a Fan because I want to see the Johnsons humiliated in the worst way or ..even better selling this Dumpster fire called the Jets
Not interested in that. I am too young to worry about that era and not for nothing, but I am not one that lives in the past. I worry about today, not years prior. Just as our success in 2009 and 2010 means shit to me now.
I played golf on Sunday and will continue to do so. I've been a fan since the 70's, but have decided there are better things to do with my time than waste on this mess...
I disagree regarding last year. What he did in the final stretch of the season was great. Having said that, even if he did not win out like he did, he was never going to be fired after last year. There were far too many problems outside of his control. Injuries were insane and our roster was absolute dog shit. While a similar argument can be made regarding the roster today, it is improved from last year and his system has now been in place long enough. The fact that our offense can not move the ball and we barely score points, is alarming, especially with a much improved offensive line and a 3rd year starting QB. Gase still gets a pass for last year, in my eyes. This year, he does not. I have been saying it since last season. This year is going to dictate his fate. We are in week 3 and in my opinion, his fate has already been determined. If only ownership can see that. He is operating on borrowed time
I understand where you are coming from but I can't for last year. He had the same issues in Miami. Players always injured. Not getting along with players. Ostracizing his best player (Jarvis Landry) not using his players to the best of their abilities. Adapting and making in game changes. Etc. I get last years roster was awful. But he always looked defeated. When Darnold went out he didn't try. In two weeks it's the same way. He clearly has not learned from his mistakes. Even when they went 6-2 last year I didn't enjoy watching them and I don't now. He sucks the life out of the team and fans. You know going in you're going to lose. The stats of double digit losses his losing record. We agree he's on borrowed time now but you have to take the whole picture into account. He was bad in Miami. It continued into last year and this year. Us as fans now have to watch this. I believe once he leaves this team will look and play better. Time will tell but he needs to go and go fast. I'm just happy I don't have to pay to see him.
Im not sure what anyone expected i predicted this midway through last season.Gase isnt a head coach.....He is a bad offensive coordinator.
Just wanted to throw out that I don't think you should consider yourself a fair weather fan. The team isn't competitive. 80 yard TD on first play from scrimmage. 55 yard run on 3rd and 31. How can you pour your heart and soul into a team that likely won't win a game. When the team is even slightly competitive, even when they lose, it is a lot easier to get caught up in it (see 8-8 Geno Smith year). There is no reason to go out of your way to "cheer" for the Jets right now. Watch it, hope for the #1 pick and Gase being fired. There is nothing else other than maybe the Pats losing.
The most frustrating part is everyone in the NFL minus Chris Johnson knew this long before midway through last season.
Jets go 2-14. Get 1st pick. Lawrence pulls a Manning and goes back for Senior year. It is the Jets way.
