^ This. We were gifted a spot at the playoffs and possibly help along by a flexed game. I think we have not room to bitch about the NFL screwing the jets over for a long time.
10-20%. It was only a one score game but our defense was absolutely on the run. I also think that people have focused too much on Manning and forgotten that Brackett, Mathis, and a few other key Colts defenders were on the bench...the Jets wouldn't be able to run all over their first string defense like they did in the second half. In any case it's all moot, we got a gift and took full advantage. The win is all that matters.
Remember the hit came against a backup TE. There was a good reason why we weren't getting much pressure most of the game and all of a sudden we got a strip-sack. Personally, I thought the backup OL being benched was a bigger deal than Manning. A half-decent line probably at least keeps it close and the Jets win like 22-15.
The Jets were in the game at halftime. No doubt offensively and defensively we faced a different team in the second half. That said urgency plays a huge factory in all sports and the lack of urgency by the Colts starters may have impacted the game in our favor anyway? There's a natural tendency to play down to your competition and to let up when nothing is really on the line. That to me is one of the reasons you should pull your starters. A lack of urgency in itself can lead to injury.
Knowing that we will never know, It's a 100% yes. We would have won 38-15, scoring 4 unanswered TD's- I've played them on Madden very often and this always seems to be the outcome, therefore it's gotta be true.
