    valid point and very logical

but lack of INT's doesnt mean he doesn't do his job. but then again your point could be correct too.

if we were going to give up any picks for taylor id rather draft Cromartie at #36

Pitt also is excellent at getting to the QB; something we struggle at, which is mind-boggling, considering the value invested in our DL. hopefully, Mangini's schemes will make us better in this area. the point is, Pitt's CB's get help from the front-7 pressure. as good as taylor is, i don't know how well he'd perform in a D that can't hurry the QB as much.

Cromartie is very enticing with his dimensions and speed. the only reluctance i have in drafting him is that injury. was it an ACL? if so, that's kinda risky.

    cheers

No question I'd trade #29 for him. Only 3 years in the league he's one of the most athletic corners in the league. Instantly improve our secondary and our pass rush.

if you're saying he'd indirectly improve our pass rush because of his cover skills, I'm not so sure about that.

like i said in my previous posts, we don't know if his cover skills will lead to that; Pitt gets a ton of pressure on the QB, so Taylor may not excel if he has to cover WR's for a longer period of time. I don't know because I've only seen him play well in Pitt's system; but I wouldn't just chalk it up as an instant improvement to our pass rush.

It'll be interesting to see our CB's this year because they're so accustomed to covering WR's for a "long time" because we haven't gotten a whole lotta pressure on opposing QB's. If Mangini and Sutton implement a scheme that creates pressure, I think our CB's will do very well and be pleasantly surprised.

    cheers

im pretty sure it was......but i also read that his knee was bothering him that summer due to something that happened in the last game VS UF, so it mightve been damaged to begin with. which would mean it wasnt 1 traumatic tear...regardless due to that injury people question whether he'll get his speed back but i do believe he posted a 40 in the 4.4's...............and thats after being out all season. does sound kind of risky but he has so much upside i think taking him would be moreso a "calculated risk" rather than something to worry about.
