As of now, Strickland on the slot. I'm not worried about the 4 (like a TE), because that would end up being S responsibility or a dropping LB.

2) PFF has a lot of good information but their rankings are pretty flaky.
3) He was not ranked first in pass defense by PFF in 2008, they ranked him 4th.
4) He was worse than Eric Smith in opposing QB rating when thrown at the last two years. He also worse than Eric Smith in completion percentage when thrown at in 2011, and only slightly better in that category in 2010. Granted that was in a completely different defense.

I do think Landry is better in coverage than Smith, but that isn't saying much. He's also much faster to recover when he is beat. Generally, he's a better all around player than Smith and an upgrade but he probably won't stay healthy and he's definitely not the answer to our coverage issues at the safety position.

I got that info out of an article from the Wall Street Journal. I didn't look it up myself on Pro Football Focus. Anything is better than Smith. I want to see him on the field. Then we'll really se what he's made of.
