Its funny, when they made that schedule, you damn well know the intent was for the Jets to be humiliated in Atlanta on MNF, and then demoralized by the Steelers on a short week. Too bad it's looking to backfire. Steelers are wounded but desperately want a win. It should be a slugfest.
I was actually thinking this would be a worse day than last week. Boy was I suprised. D-line was amazing. Geno was off the hook. Even the receivers made some big plays.
I'm always proud to be a Jets fans, because of what the Jets mean to me. But yeah, I hear ya! It's good to upset teams like this on national TV.
That game was a beaut to watch. Geno getting 3 TD's and not turning it over was a major plus but the front 7 on this D is also a joy to watch. My only gripes is going soft on the TD that got them to within 6 and then on the insuing possesion MM staying safe with the check down on 3rd down which just brought them up the field to go ahead. But that is me picking but it still could have cost us the game.. Im pumped after this game.
I'm hoping it'll be a statement game instead, part of the team learning what it takes to win. Every team has talent; they don't all know how to win. Look at what Seattle did last season. If we can beat a perennial playoff team it would be tremendous boost going in to the NE game. Keep Geno upright and he looks capable of making the right decision more often than not.
coming off a hard game and a short week my only concern ,on the positive side the team will be buzzing ,the next 2 weeks could be huge .. Yesterday at 3 pm I was actually thinking another shit season ,how one game can change things .. And agree we are all proud to be jets fans ,its just the manic depression that causes us problems
I know, I'm already letting myself daydream about us beating Pitt, NE losing to the saints, and then handing them a 3rd loss in a row to take 1st. I know, I know looking too far down the road, but man would it be sweet to taste those NE tears
I have to admit I hate the Thur and Mon. nite games I have said this in other threads, I told myself,, Let see how were playing and I watch a Qtr and then off to bed and watch the news in the morning for the bad news. But after the 1st Qtr I could not turn it off. Geno just looked like he was in a zone and a man on a mission, How could I not watch this whole game. Glad I did now.
Gruden must be Wikerson's paid spokesman. He must have spent damn near 10 minutes last night just praising big Mo. Nice to see this team get some good pub for a change.
Gruden has made a career out of being a fanboy you know what? I love it. it's a nice change of pace to always hearing about the missed assignments and screw ups.
