Let's hope so. Isn't it a penalty for calling two TOs in a row? Didn't Washington get done for that and lose a game as the resulting kick was so much easier?
Rex has never let a measly penalty keep him from anything. Hell, he's never let ANYTHING come between him and wasting a time out. We can just about guarantee he's going to make this happen.
Something tells me on Friday this guy's name is going to be Randy Bollocks. Folk was a bit of a security blanket, it's been a while since we've had a shitty kicker.
Agree 100%. They should've given Furney a shot. He kicked pretty well in camp last year. But I guess they want someone who's had experience missing.
Two things: GMs tend to go back to where they know ppl to get players. See Fitz, and now this guy. Both with Macc last year. Second, Bullock missed 2 extra points, which are like field goals kicked inside the redzone. Jets score TDs in the redzone so we won't be needing any short FGs. Sheldon should be running in extra points so this guy might not even be needed.
That may be the only place it's okay for me. Established kickers have had issues because the psychology of the PAT was effortless and routine. The reason they started missing was because their routine got fucked. It's not a difficult kick, but the mental ritual was completely changed. I'm more worried about this guy kicking an actual field goal that's longer than 40 yards.
A reminder that the next place for Bullock to kick will be back in Houston where he was less than successful.
Given that we are somehow the #1 redzone O. If he starts whiffing xps, I'd be interested in seeing us put that statement to the test and maybe go for 2 more often. Not that I want to see us start running up the score on teams just for kicks, but I'd rather that than leave points on the table and possibly losing games because of it.
maybe the fresh leg will net some touchbacks too... ugh, trying to be optimistic, but i'm a little nervous. the potential nickname is just too easy
