So we cut Woodhead to keep this piece of bust, right?

    Now that's brilliant.

Claiming a rookie is a bust is brilliant as well.

Possibly. It's clear by now, however, McKnight may not have what it takes to be an effective RB.

It took Woodhead 3 years and 2 teams to become semi-productive in a role tailored for his skillset.

Yet you are giving up on the much more talented McKnight after a few months?

joe mcknight has a much higher ceiling than mr. woodhead, and we never seen mcknight behind our first team oline, he's a rookie, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if this happened. I remember reading that he was trying to play 2 ways at SC, his junior year

But i don't think it will happen. McKnight is going to be a good player at RB in the future. Whether it's with the Jets or another team

I wonder if the people that are impatient with McKnight were also impatient with Brad Smith? College rushing yards at QB aside, Smith took quite a while to develop into a viable threat. I defended him for a while but I admit that I had also pretty much given up hope for him being an impact player on offense, although he had developed into a fantastic gunner during that time.

McKnight seems to have been drafted for his versatility more than his ability as a pure runningback. The Jets like to spend mid-round picks on guys like that, and I wouldn't be surprised if Westhoff had been lobbying for him. Round 4 seems to belong to Mike Westhoff a lot lately.

McKnight's going to be a better corner than Wilson.

You deactivate someone like Kenwin Cummings or Vlad Ducasse.

Against bottom feeders like Detroit and Cleveland, the Jets shouldn't have a problem activating McKnight in the place of another depth player.

Well, you are talking about the guy the bitched most in the draft thread about drafting Sanchez and that he would be a complete bust, so giving his track record I'm all for him calling out prospects.

So far McKnight has been in three plays and it seems like there's been at least 20 threads about him. Could be some kind of a record.

Ducasse was only active for the one game Hunter missed and Cummings has only been active half the games so far.

The only time Ducasse was active was when Hunter missed a game wasn't it? And Cummings has only been active part time.

I get your point, but it seems pretty difficult for RB #3 to get on the active roster w/2 FB's.

How many of them were started to defend or boost the guy and how many were started to proclaim him a bust?

Haven't broken it down yet. :)

It just seems like there's been an active thread with a long argument going on about him since camp, kind of a lot for a guy who doesn't really play. You don't see that very often. We've had that for people like Pennington or Favre, but not a practice squad guy.
