I have a few problems with this post. a monkey can take this team to the playoffs, but once the team is there, its joe torre's fault they can't win? the insult wasn't the actual amount of money, it was that he and every other person in america knew that the yankees didnt want him back. so they give him a reduced contract they know hell reject. they give igawa 56 mill, clemens 28 mill prorated, and they nickel and dime a man whos given us 4 world series? i dont care if you think joe torre had nothing to do with the yankees success over the past 12 years. (which is stupid because he is a first ballot hall of famer and 8th on the all time manager win list) the fact is he was the leader of the team and a great man with limitless class. and you tell him to fuck himself.
