If he hurt something, it was b/c he was playing with his hurt thigh and he was compensating for it.

Hey, I got an instant message yesterday from a friend of mine that said Justin Miller is totally uninjured. Let's report this as real news as well.

You know better than to start threads like this, Kelly.

the only way he would be out for the year is if it was a completely torn ACL. if that was the case he would not have walked off the field like he did.

possibly a partial tear? correct me if I'm wrong but a partial tear wouldn't sideline someone for a season.

    MILLER INJURES KNEE

Pro Bowl cornerback Justin Miller suffered what appeared to be a serious right knee injury while returning a second-quarter kickoff when he was twisted in a pile after a 22-yard return. He was helped to the sideline, examined and then taken to the locker room.

Miller, who suffered a right hamstring injury in training camp, has yet to recover fully after a strong start in training camp, where he seemed to be challenging for a starting job at cornerback. He tweaked the hamstring injury last week against the Patriots.

Shit! I didn't see that one, i thought he got injured earlier. It could be a tear then...

Your friend emailed you and said this?

I know he was injured, but I'll wait until Mangini or someone else from the Jets staff says something before I truly believe he tore his ACL. No offense to you, Kelly, I'm just saying I rather wait for a credible source before I believe anything.

I must say, that spin was sick. I wouldn't mind seeing what Revis can do as the punt returner in case Miller doesn't return anytime soon.

Would it really be that big of a loss?

I don't see Mangini carrying a guy just for KOs, so I can't imagine the guy being on the roster next year.

Actually, from all training camp reports, he seemed to be coming into his own as a cornerback, and yes "just" the best kick returner in the AFC and an up-and-coming CB is someone Mangini would keep on the team...what a terrible loss if true, I hadn't given up on him yet. Oh yeah, until we get a link this is just a terrible rumor. Did your friend also see him pass out at 31 flavors last night?

in the star ledger today it said he hurt his knee. they didnt get too specific with the nature of the injury or how long he could be out.

The official NFL injury report showed him as probably for this week in yesterday's postings so who knows. Could just be another Mangini ploy although I don't see why he would have to go to those depths over Miller.

I don't see this as a ploy at all, especially if Hutchinson is reporting it. Methinks that the injury report isn't updated minute by minute, plus, if the team hasn't released word to the media yet you wonder if they've done so with the NFL.

My money says out for the season, definitely a loss.

Here's the thing, for someone like Miller where speed is his lethal weapon, will season-ending knee surgery retard his speed next year? I'm curious as to whether you are ever really 100% after such a surgery, or if the best you can hope for is "nearly" 100%?

More importantly, if he is out, who runs back kicks? Smith? Washington? Revis? All have value for the team and you wouldn't want to lose any of them.
