I think that's the point, most franchise backs you see will be able to rack the stats up regardless of the direction of the team. Jones has only done so when his team is doing well. You could blame that on bad coaching and a bad team situation with AZ and TB, but how often do you see a player becoming a franchise back in his sixth season? Don't get me wrong, I saw some Bears games last season and I think he is a solid runner and a true workhorse, but I'm not sure he deserves the FB label.
If Herm has anything to do with what player is chosen, I think he will lean more toward the FPA. Flashiest Player Available.
I have a philosophy about this: in the cap era you NEVER draft a GUARD #1 because you will not be able (if you are prudent with your cap money) to resign a Pro Bowl Guard when they become a FA.
