I'd rather have Holmes play, even if its limited. This will get him some game time practice with Sanchez. They haven't had it yet this year. A little warm up to the season would be nice.
What exactly is the "holmes slant"? Is that somehow different than a normal slant that every NFL team runs?
no its not but when he first came here from pitt. That's all he would do is a quick slant over the middle. It worked for a while so I alway's called it the santonio slant. Then last year every team caught up with the play and he would get shut down. That's all I meant is he should be getting in some reps of different plays and sitting all preseason doesn't help.He can get hurt worse first game cause he is not at game speed like the rest of the players. He must get on the field and try new things and get reps.
i think thats on the o.c. not santonio.i don't think he was only running slants because he wanted to.more because it was 3rd and long and what else would schotty call?
agreed...to say teams finally figured out a fundamental route is silly...the playcalling combined with lack of any type of threat across from Holmes between the 20s equals last year for Holmes.
