I am so happy with this move. I think its the best move Pats made this yr. QBs dont need great speed and neither do the OLs. But safeties? Gotta be kidding me. Safeties and CBs are the ones that need to be the fastest on the feild. This junk is almost 38, and really no good to cover the safety spot. Hell I can already see Clowney zooming by John LOLch while he gets ready to move. Im in my mid 20s and I bet I can run faster than him and Im not even a pro!!! Pats were volunerable in the secondary before the season ended. They lost a few good players in the offseason making them even weaker and now the John Lynch deal is just like putting salt on your own wounds.
I completely agree. I understand the logic of it, however, in my opinion it is rather idiosyncratic and serves only to limit strong, open debate.
I agree with you that Lynch is washed up and won't help them much in pass coverage. However, I think he WILL boost their run defense a bit if he can stay healthy. To me though, the weakest aspect of their team was their old and slow linebacking core and secondary, both of which could be exploited with an offense willing, and able, to spread them out and carve them up through the air. This signing does not seem to help much in this regard.
I agree this move seems harsh - I know it's not intended as a punishment, just housekeeping to keep the board tidy, but the other sections never seem to be as busy. Also, your post had loads of stuff in it that wasn't draft related so it belonged here just as much as in the draft section, imo. As for Lynch, he's been overrated for a while now and I hope the Jets receivers make him look like the oldest player in the NFL!
I should have been more specific that I was relating to the Pro Bowl. Lynch continues to make it while Rhodes gets screwed over.

Clearly you don't understand football very well. Jet fans like you run your mouths every single off-season about who the Patriots lost, or who they added and how the pats are done. You talk about how old and slow they are going to be and how their rookie draft picks suck and can't play, then like magic the season starts and the Pats roll on to the play-offs while the Jets just roll off. Jet fans end up talking more about next years draft picks than football games by Halloween. This year will be no differen't and deep down inside, most Jet fans know it.
Just like Pats fans mouth off every year about rolling to the Super Bowl and winning and it's about half a decade since they've done so. Now it's just the playoffs. Amazing what 18-1* can do to your trash talk. GPC.
Please,,,,, it's been 4 decades going on 5 since the Jets even sniffed the Super Bowl. Besides, what does any of that have to do with the point I was making? Is it not true that every off-season Jet fans talk themselves and eachother into beliving the Patriots will just fall apart for whatever reason they can come up with in their heads? Have you guys learned so little that you don't realize by now that this team isn't going anywhere? They know how to fill holes, and use something called the NFL draft and FA to make their team better. Look, Jet fans can hope and pray for the Patriots to fall apart from the inside all they like, but reality is waiting just beyond opening weekend, and something tells me that once again it will be Jet fans wondering what happened to their hopes and dreams not Pats fans.
We all know the Jets' history, so saying that on a Jets board is preaching to the choir, buddy. You think it hurts? LOL. I must have been hallucinating when the Patriots fell apart in the biggest upset in Super Bowl history to Peyton's lil brother, a year after they got decimated in the second half of a playoff by the hated Colts and Peyton himself. Every year I hear you turds sing the same song, but each year that glowing arrogance gets a little less and a little less, it's so much fun to watch, like a game within a game. Now you turds are using arguments that you laughed at Colts fans for making not very long ago. It's awesome. A long time of failure that the Jets have had, well, it's something you can get used to. But when your team goes undefeated and then gets beaten in the Super Bowl, well, that's just priceless. I licked up the tears of Pats fans all summer. It was a welcome distraction to all the familiar draft talk. Tell me, how did you spend the day after the Super Bowl? Did you wake up and drink a tumbler of vodka? Please give me some more tears to drink, Pats fan tears are sweeter than most.
Jet fans like you just don't get it, you can't "get it" because you've never had it. You see while Jet fans spend their summers vastly overrating every move their own team makes, while at the same time convincing themselves every move the Patriots make will fail, Patriot fans just sit back confident in knowing what their organization has proved to them over the years. You see it's real simple, even the Patriot's worst defeats are more relivant than any of the jet's victories. Patriot fans have watched their team go to the Super Bowl 5 times in the last 15 years, with only three losing seasons among them. Sorry buddy, but knowing your team has a chance and will be there in the end every season, is always better than knowing deep down in your heart that your season will be over by the time the leaves change color.
Dude, don't you even watch the games on TV? If the boner lasts more than 4 hours, you're supposed to go see your doctor.
