I'm not sure how you can't be there already. this is the same team as last year, and yet are expecting different results? isn't that the definition of insanity?
STOP FUCKING RUNNING holy shit. you can't make this shit up. 2 innings in a row a SB attempt has cost the Mets a run. what the fuck
at least now we get to watch an ex mets reliever they gave away for nothing close them out for like the 10th time this year
wright really should've been bunting there he had no chance at hitting that fastball at least he didn't gidp
http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/gamecenter/recap/MLB_20090429_FLA@NYM Umpires have used video replay to review a home run by the New York Mets' Fernando Tatis, upholding his go-ahead shot against the Florida Marlins. With the score tied at 2 Wednesday, Tatis led off the sixth inning and drove an 0-1 pitch from Josh Johnson to left field. A fan reached over the railing above the high fence in an attempt to catch the ball, which ricocheted back onto the field. Second-base umpire Dale Scott signaled home run almost immediately, but Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez came out to argue for fan interference. The umps huddled on the infield and then three of them disappeared under the third-base stands. After just a few minutes, they returned to the field and upheld the call. It was the first replay review at the Mets' new ballpark, Citi Field. Replays showed Tatis' drive clanged off the bottom of the railing that sits atop the left-field fence, which is nearly 16 feet high. As players waited for the call, New York starter Johan Santana stood in the dugout twirling his finger in the air to signal home run. It was the fifth time replay has been used to review a homer this season. All five calls have been upheld - two at the new Yankee Stadium across town. ======== Good game recap.
without taking the importance of the situations into account I think this eclipses the Cliff Floyd move as the worst PH decision ever made.
this manuel press conference is unreal. he just said that guys doing bullpen catching are more "in the game" because they have to pay attention as opposed to guys that are "running around trying to do other things"
This team is pathetic. Who says "oh, lets pitch hit OMIR FUCKING SANTOS in a big spot" Who?! What. The. Fuck.
It's funny, every chance the Mets got today to get a hit, the Marlins pulled a a great play out of their ass, next to bad decisions, bad hitting, bad bull-pen run....and minor injuries.
Just back from the ballgame. The ballpark is gorgeous. I was sitting right behind home plate in the last row of the upper (Promenade) deck, and the seats were great - about at the level of the bottom of the upper deck at Shea. I moved down at the end, and had a real good view of the nonsense in the bottom of the 9th. What about the game? Ugh. Three big goats, Wright, Putz, and Manuel. Manuel seems determined to get himself fired by the 4th of July, and that decision to pinch hit Santos has to rank among the top 10 stupidest decisions I've seen on a baseball field in the last 10 years. As I've already said at least twice before, Santana must wonder why it is that his teammates hate him so much.
at this point, Omar should pull a hockey move, fire Manuel and manage the shitty club he's assembled himself. at the worst maybe it will expedite his departure as well.
In Santana's 5 starts the mets have only scored 9 runs..that's an average of not evn 2 runs per game.
