People complained that I don't start a thread for every series. I said it was because this exact thing would happen, but they said that "it was my problem". I'm just giving the people what they want.
Game over, Red Sox win! Wakefield with his 9th win of the year, getting even closer to the all time Sox win record.
I should have posted earlier to help the process of legitimizing this thread. Thoughts: I'm loving Eckersley as an analyst. He's funny and honest, but also sort of interesting. Don Orsillo also seems more appealing with Eck around... I guess I like the thought of a six man rotation...it has the potential to wear down the bullpen but it seems like something that will take care of itself just by the nature of this game. Wake looked good, offense mostly came in one inning but 8 runs is almost always enough. Water.
Really? I can't stand him and am counting the days until Remy comes back. If I have to hear "paint" or "cheese" one more time I'm going to stab someone.
Well that can be a bit annoying, but on the whole I like him more than I dislike him. He seems to be pretty relaxed and he can be funny at times. He also of course said "shit" for no reason during the Mets game and called Masterson "masturbate" by accident an inning later. And then seemed nonchalant about it afterward. He's a lot better than Roberts who seems way too "this guy is good, that team is good, everything is good" to be really insightful as a color guy. I see way more potential in Eck. Remy is okay...he seems much more uptight and his behavior in the booth seems much more planned than Eck. He can be pretty insightful at times, but I'd rather have a likable, funny color guy that can sometimes give interesting tid bits than a guy who's constantly trying to explain the game. I'm not sure when the remdog will be back, but Eck seems fine till then.
Don't get me wrong, I think Remy is easily one of the best color guys out there. Whenever I hear another team's broadcast, I am usually shocked by how much of a blowhard their commentator is. Remy can add a lot of insight. But his incessant on the air ads for his own site and business gets annoying, and everything he does sounds scripted.... I guess Eck is just more entertaining because you never know what's coming. He's like your drunk uncle. Anyways, Penny's stuff looks good tonight although he's mostly been weaving in and out of trouble. I'm going to be very disappointed if the Sox can't have a big inning against Miller. Fastball, change...that's it.
