I call my brother worse and he's not been medically defined as having any mental issues. As for others, I have no control over what they say. If the guy is nuts they'll say so.
I like it because it cuts to the chase. He's a nutcase and it comes right to the point. And says it in everyday American language that even you and I would understand. btw if you're offended this site isn't the place for you. It's hardly a bastion of politically correct banter.
Revis' greatness isn't (like Marshall) due to his physical attributes. It's his mental approach. He is mentally superior over his opponents. He can out think them and out tough them. He gets the position and the edge. He did it all the time when he played against Marshall. He dominated the guy not physically but mentally. He bitch slapped Marshall (something Marshall off the field is good at).
Luckily the Jets don't have much invested in him like they did in Miami and to a lesser extent Chicago. If he becomes a pain in the ass and even if his play dramatically declines they can just cut his ass and all they are out is a 5th rounder. I'm okay with that. I really hope he doesn't become a circus here. Its a little concerning about the apparent priority he put on the TV show when he was in Chicago, thats for damn sure. I'm sure that was a pretty toxic environment there though with Cutler & his "leadership" maybe getting out of there will help. On the field though, he is getting up there in age so you are right, maybe we'd do well to temper expectations all around but he's got the abilities to be a QBs best friend, even if he isn't dominate like before. Things like his size & hands are still going to be there even if he loses a step and those 2 things alone are something that was needed big time here
Well, if the Jets (and Geno) start playing crappy football is he going to start ranting and raving in the locker room like he did with the Bears. I don't think Bowles would allow it. Plus you have other guys like Revis and Wilk and Ivory and Rich who would stop that before it starts. The Bears HC seemed to let it slide and that's maybe one of the reasons the team was disorganized and he got fired.
I'm not concerned one bit about Marshall creating a circus with the Jets. The guy plays with passion and wants to win so I also have no problem with his dedication to TV because he's not one to dog it on the field no matter what he's got going on off it. Marshall isn't Holmes Vick or Burress, the guy isn't just looking to pick up a paycheck, he's a competitor and I think the other WR's will feed off his passion for the game.
I hope you are right, I know in the past he's definitely shown he has passion for his craft on the field but priorities have a way of changing when you are 31 years old, have other interests outside of the game, and it's your 4 team in a 10 year career, now with a shitty QB. Its gut-check time for him. If he wants to have a revival in his career, a resurgence as a top-flight WR I think its possible but its going to be harder work than just playing out the string, relying on past accomplishments and focusing on off-the field stuff as he fades out of the game.
Marshall doesn't strike me as a guy that would just coast on his last few years in the league . I think the guy has too much pride for that . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
OMG just this Sunday???? I hope what his attorney says is the truth. People with mental illness deserve a life, but how many treating physicians throw up their hands at patients who dont take their meds. Dont know the facts on this incident but trouble is finding this guy. Where is the clause in his contract he has to be seen weekly by psych? Not a bad idea considering Borderline PD is a seriuous illness
It doesn't concern you at all that he keeps getting traded for lesser and lesser value even though his numbers are very good? He's been a very good receiver, pretty consistently, yet teams keep giving up on him and taking whatever they can get. There must be a reason. Not saying it wasn't worth the risk for a 5th rounder, but this guy has some pretty big issues.
