They've brought Bay in from LF. Don't agree with this at all, but again, it doesn't matter - there will be a walk.

    At least K-rod is good.

Staggeringly horrible performance for Rodriguez. They're now 3 games out, and with this clown as their closer they have no shot. Dickey gets screwed over twice.

Can't wait until September when I get to watch both K-Rod and Nick Folk close out games. I'm going to have to buy a shoe guard for my TV screen.

Lay off Rodriguez, remember that being a closer is one of the toughest and most important jobs in sports. Why else would teams pay overrated bums 13 million a year to pitch an inning every few days with multiple run leads?

Actually, part of the problem is that he isn't only pitching every few days. Manuel the moron has decided that he needs to pitch (almost) every day, which is a disaster. He's pitched 3 times in the last 4 days, and has given up 9 baserunners in 2 total innings pitched.

Rodriguez is always bitching that he wants more work, so he probably shouldn't suck when he gets it, or else shut his mouth. The attitude that really bothers me is the one where it's "Well, our closer is in, time to sit back and let him lose the game even if it's obvious after the first batter that he has nothing"

That's not really specific to Manuel though. I know every manager is this stupid. But really, how do you watch a guy come in and walk Cristian Guzman on 4 pitches and not think "Shit, maybe I should get someone up"

Ok....why is it that fans have realized K-rod cant pitch 4 out of 5 days, or 3 in a row, yet the manager hasnt? Also...he had Pedro up in this game? If he came in he would have given up 6 runs.

The creation of the save statistic has really damaged baseball.

I've realized K-Rod can't pitch with any amount of rest if that's what you mean.

At least it's not because of Strasburg taking his place, which would have really been ridiculous. I'm glad for Wright that he ended up being elected, since he's really had a nice comeback season. I wonder if Reyes will actually go, since I suspect that he's going to go on the DL.

So, is an 8-run lead big enough that the bullpen won't blow it?

Takahashi runs out of gas in the 6th. Still 8-3, but for how long?

Looks like they're not waiting until the 9th to blow this game.

This is a very dangerous moment - risking losing 5 of 7 to two crappy teams, with a home stand against two very good teams coming up. Blowing this game could send this season spinning out of control.
