why? mets fans in new york would have to see and deal with the yankees bullshit for months. if the phillies win it will be on tv for a day and then anyone outside of philly will be oblivious to what is going on. i also would be willing to bet that mets fans know more yankees fans than phillies fans. sure they are the mets rivals, but for some dealing with the rather large yankees bandwagon is more sickening than anything else.
So Jet fans that live in the NY/NJ area should have rooted for the Patriots to beat the Giants so we wouldn't have to deal with the Giants bullshit for months?

I guess yankee fans must hold mets fans in high regards seeing how upset they are that wed rather see the phillies win. Your franchise is not the center of the world, but you like to think it is, and that is partly the reason we hate it, especially since we share the same city. I dont have to deal with phillies fans on a regular basis, yankee fans i do.

There are plenty that have been mentioned in this thread but I think those have been ignored. I knew Lidge would explode but I assumed it would be much sooner in the series then tonight. I think I'm sick to my stomach with the sporting events of the day.
I have to say, as this series nears an end, I am far more giddy about seeing the Phillies lose than disappointed it is the Yankees winning in their place.
it took me until first pitch of game one to determine i was rooting for the Yanks (slightly) I really can't stand the Phillies. And on the brightest possible outlook for all of us Mets fans, in each of these games, there's always a loser.........I just get a tad more enjoyment out of watching the Phils lose. It was pretty cool to see Damon come through, and (and i can't believe I'm going to say this) A-Rod showed me something after getting drilled a few times and making the Phillies pay (it ws aslo kinda cool watching Joba get smoked too to lose the lead.......)..See , i'm making the best of a bad situation

I think most of us are just shocked met fans would root for a division rival. We certainly do not hold you in high regard,lol. I was pulling for the Patriots for one reason only. I wanted to get an opportunity at ending their undefeated streak. If they weren't undefeated I would not have cared.
