dude come on, have you ever been to boston? Its a beautiful city, lets not get carried away. Philly on the other hand....
I'd like to state that I personally don't give a shit how much money the Yankees spend. There are plenty of other reasons to hate them. Money is not one of them.
Another Mets fan displaying a bizarre love for Boston. (It's as fair of a generalization as you saying all the Yankees fans you knew growing up were un-athletic braggarts. All the Mets fans I know seem to develop a very high opinion of the city of Boston once October rolls around.)
I won't lie, I always rooted for Boston in October when I was a kid. After 2004 though, they showed they're possibly worse than the Yankee fan base. I honestly probably want them to lose more than the Yankees at this point. Maybe. It'd be a toss up. That entire city, no, that entire region, is the worst in the country.
hahah, i said its a beautiful city, i didnt say i like their sports teams. Right now, due to all the banwagon sox fans, they are probably my 2nd most hated team in the AL, (i hate the whole AL as i mentioned before, bullshit baseball, when it comes to the AL ill tend to root for baltimore though so that rules out any love for boston) The only time ill root for the sox is when they are playing the yankees. Boston is a goddamn beautiful city though, try and catch a game at fenway sometime, which is by the way a goddamn beautiful ballpark, i was able to catch the mets there this season.
oh yeah please explain again how the AL is "watered down" when guys like brad penny and smoltz get chased out of the AL and suddenly become elite pitchers. smoltz couldnt get out of the inning for the sox and hes k'ing 10 a game in the nl central.
This is an instant classic! This. I've been trying to make this point for years. It's not the Yankees who insist on keeping the no-salary-cap system in place. It's the Kansas City, Pittsburgh, and other "small market" teams who don't want it. Those owners make ludicrous amounts of money off the Yankees, thanks to the luxury tax. When you're right, you're right. Though Philly is pushing to run a very close second. Heaven forbid the Eagles ever actually win the Super Bowl. So then what was your response to my post you quoted about? My post directly addressed the fans of the Sox, not the city's sights.
Especially Philly. Like Cappy said, that city is a cesspool. Boston and Philly are the two worst cities in the country in terms of douche viscosity. -thats what you said so i think its reasonable to see how I thought you meant the city, because philly on the other hand, is a shitty city. fans and sports aside, shitty city. Boston is a great city though i hate their teams.
I dare you to come live here for any extended amount of time. I'd bet you anything your opinion changes. And, no, Fenway, Beacon Hill, Newbury Street, and Harvard Square aren't what I'm talking about. Come hang out in Southie, or Somerville, or Brighton/Allston. See if you still think it's such a "beautiful" city. And those aren't even the bad parts of town that most cities have. Don't even think about walking around outside in most of Dorchester or Roxbury. This is the thing... about 15% of the square mileage city is actually nice, if that. The rest? Cesspool. The same can be said for Philly.
Last I checked, Willets Point doesn't even have sewers. At least the Bronx is inhabitable. Whatever, it's irrelevant anyway. New York is a far nicer, safer, better city than Boston. Or Philadelphia for that matter.
True NY is a much nicer place, but those cities do have their good points. Sport fans not being one of them.
new york city is spot clean though right? can pretty much walk anywhere, same goes for any other city. Every city has shitty areas dude. WHen i point out that nyc is a great city, im not thinking of harlem.
and to epitomize yankee fans further, someone in another thread (i dont want to spam that thread) just asked if the yankees could sign cliff lee next year. that is the yankee mentality.
