Every fan is proud of his team. But they don't spend countless hours propping up their fringe NFL players. USC doesn't do it for Leinart. Miami didn't do it for Ken Dorsey. Nebraska didn't do it for Tommy Frasier. Texas doesn't do it for VY. OU doesn't for Jason White. LSU doesn't for Jamarcus Russell. Alabama doesn't for McElroy. Hell Auburn doesn't for Cam and he's actually good! Cowboys fan, I have no doubt that you have underlying or subconscious homo erotic feelings for Tebow. Healthy normal heterosexual males don't worship people like this. If it starts to effect your daily life, I would seek professional help.
I find you offensive and repugnant. Its people like you that make me wish that this board had an "ignore" feature.
I guarantee none of this Tebowmania would have happened if the haters didn't start the controversy. It was the over-the-top dismissal of Tebow that got everyone picking and choosing sides. If people had just kept quiet, he may have never even started one game yet and nobody would have said anything. He got a shot to start in Denver b/c Tebowmania took over the football world when Orton struggled. If the rhetoric had not been escalated so high, Orton might have been allowed to struggle. Just be clear of that fact... Tebowmania is a result of people like you. And P.S....:lol::lol: that it gets you so upset. The thought of hearing his name or reading about him sickens you so much that you frequent a forum titled, "TEBOWMANIA". It's not the "I hate Tebow forum". It's TEBOWMANIA. You choose to be here so quit constantly crying about it. Nobody puts a gun to your head and forces you to read or post.
Look, we've been following the Jets for a long time and this FO/CS combo has been known to, lets say, paint a rosy picture for any and everything they do. When Woody Johnson came out and said: "you can never have enough Tebow", it should have sent a chill down your spines. There's a reason why the perception of this team is Media first, football second. It comes from a team sharing the same market and stadium with a SB winner. If you can't beat them on the field, beat them in the headlines. Well known are the issues with the very unpopular PSL's the team has been peddling since the new Meadowlands aka MetLife Stadium was built. That they sold you the story that Tebow was brought in to "help Sanchez" and "bring an extra dimension to the offense" smacks of the great cover stories from days gone by. Its not like they didn't have film on Tebow. Everyone knows the man can't throw a rock in the ocean but yet you believed he would be given a chance at QB? Seriously? Cmon now.. Don't feel bad though. Its not like you're the first, nor will you be the last, to buy into the BS that comes from the Jet FO/CS weekly. You're very wise to start believing what you see instead of what you read. Once Tebow's value plateaus and whatever media value he has here starts to wear off, you can bet he'll be packaged or simply not resigned and allowed to go on his way. If I were him, I would seriously consider Canadian Football. Warren Moon made quite a career for himself there and with that wider field of play, Tebow would be a monster. JMHO
W.M. spent 6-years in CA, followed by a 16 year HOF career in the NFL. Yeah, that would be a good career arc for Tebow.
The Jets' FO can sell a story to all Tebow fans (including me) but I had no notion of him starting over Sanchez not because I do not think he is capable, I think Tebow could help the Jets be a playoff team but I also have the same faith in Sanchez and with the investment the team has made in Sanchez it makes sense to ride him out. When the Jets acquired him I was excited that he could help out the jets' in an innovative offense going forward but .......the fear the coaches showed in leaving him in last week was depressing especially when he did well. As far as last week ,forget the throws man, he could have helped and possibly sparked the team to a win with his legs and Sanchez could have come in the next series (just look at his track record for wacky crazy comebacks, the situation last week was made for it, give him ONE series and then let Sanchez comeback fired up to get back in ) . How can you possibly not ride the emotion of Tebow and the Steeler defense? A defense that was embarrassed by him last year and just gave up 22 yards on the FIRST play, half as many yards as the Jets' passing game got in 3 quarters (quarters 2-4) . Even if they wanted to take him out on 2nd and 16 to let Sanchez throw two incomplete passes , bring him in the next series . On some level Sporano and Rex have to be second guessing not bringing him in again especially since the game was eventually lost anyway. If I was him I would not consider CFL, he is 9-7 as a starter in this league and has shown tremendous mental toughness (with every imaginable odd stacked against him) . He has a bit to go before anything like that happens.
Then at some point, all those examples piling up might make you want to question your theory. As in, "hmmm . . . maybe there's something about Tebow that makes him popular and polarizing besides going to Florida." But no, you list 100 examples where it doesn't normally happen, and only see it as proof that there can be no other explanation for Tebow. Danny Wuerffel exceeded Tebow's college success statistically. He won a Heisman. He won a National Championship. And his style at least, was more passing oriented, and therefore more NFL-like. Yet . . . . he got nothing but a "good luck in the NFL" from Gator fans. So, theory FAIL. Go back to enjoying a golden shower.
(1)Of course, believe what you want and please remember and/or know I have not nor will I waste a second of my time trying to convince you otherwise. What I do know is both Tim and I have heard that shit before and Tim has done, and I have seen, otherwise. (2)If you are addressing me, thanks for your concern but save it for someone needy. Both Tim and I are big boys and love this shit. (3)Again, if you are addressing me, my wisdom precedes your advice as I believe what I see over what someone is trying to get me to believe with their printed words, and is evidenced by my opinion and acceptance of our difference of opinion, as expressed in my orange response #1 to your orange opinion #1. (4)Tim IS a monster. I just hope the Jets don't end up on the trash heep with those that haven't realized that before it's to late,,,,again.
Let's hope they learn from that. If the Jets end up going 2-4 or 3-5 and Sanchez hasn't looked good, at some point, Tebow will get an entire series, maybe several per game.
I believe Warren Moon is a pretty good example of what Tebow could become in the NFL. Moon went to Canada, played on the wider field, honed his craft and came back to the NFL to start what was to be an HOF career. Tebow could do the same IF he's serious about being a starting NFL QB. As it is right now, given the competitiveness and high cost of running a franchise, I just don't see any team giving Tebow the opportunity for OJT. The CFL? Different story altogether.
