Hafner, Wells and Youkilis carrying the lineup to start the year but lots of guys came to life today. Nice to see Robbie smash two out the park. On to the next, Andy Pettitte on the bump tmrw.

Game postponed. Probably a doubleheader tomorrow.

edit: no doubleheader has been announced, so I guess they'll wait

Guess Cleveland did their Indian rain dance so they didn't have to get pummeled 4 days Ina row.

Tremendous triple play last night against the O's. Here's an interesting stat that I found out from MLB's Twitter:

"Tonight’s triple play turned by @Yankees was first 4-6-5-6-5-3-4 triple play in @MLB history and first turned by Yanks at home since 6/3/68".

Ironically, it was also the same year the Jets went to the Super Bowl. I'm not saying that history will repeat, just stating the observations.

Is Cappy still around to defend this guy? He used to tell me that Hughes had 3 plus pitches. From day one the guy didnt have a plus fastball or a plus curve. And no 3rd pitch to even speak of. we must have had 20 offers for this guy through the years and never would move him. Why?

Good to see jonnyd still can't make it until April before drastically overreacting. Not interested in defending Hughes, though. Not worth my time, regardless of what anyone thinks of his talent or whether he has lived up to his potential. I'd prefer not to spend any of my free time bitching about the performance of some millionaire athlete none of us will ever meet. I work about eighty hours per week. I don't even know what the Yankees' record is right now. I presume from the bitching that Hughes had a bad start. Alas.

Hughes sucks. Trynna throw 90 mph fastballs down the pipe and expect to blow batters away. Put this fukker in the 'pen or send him to the minors.

Yankees win 3-0. All the runs came in the 5th

Kuroda allowed 5 hits, no walks, and struck out 5
