Puig got a dose of reality in the Bronx. Yanks going for the sweep tonight!

I'm ready to accept Hughes is just bi-polar as fuck. He is too inconsistent to be counted on anymore imo.

    Shelled tonight by LAD.

What's the scoop on Zoilo Almonte? Is he supposed to be part of our future? Blue-chipper or longshot?

3-3 tonight with a jack. Yanks up 5-2 7th inning against Tampa.... need to start winning ball games consistently!

Girardi said Almonte has a "pretty swing" and has been a project for them. I think the kid is legit, ripped two doubles to deep left today.

    Young Zeezy FTW.

He's a patient hitter, decent eye for the ball, Girardi praises his at-bats. Surprisingly he's prone to hitting the ball into gaps, remains to be seen whether he'll end up hitting a lot of flyball outs or get a ton of XBH. He's a little groundball prone and has flashed power potential. Even though he's a switch-hitter he hits righties better than lefties. His best skill is defense. He has a very high ceiling and could end up being any talent of player from Shelly Duncan to Shane Spencer to Curtis Granderson.

Cashman reaction to A-rod tweet was so unnecessary.

Nova with a fantastic start but he might take a loss or a ND.

Biggest win of the year by far. For so many reasons with all the news of Nunez...Jeter...and even Arod getting real close to a return..huge huge win.

    1. 4 game winning streak extended. Puts less pressure to just split out and win series.

    2. The calvary gets closer to coming back.

    3. Gives the Yanks 6 starters...Nova has been getting better and better and is starting to look like the guy of 2 yeas ago. You get that Nova..the Yanks can make a run.

    4. The Orioles are a real scary team..but not without a closer..and right now even will all the saves...had a great feeling when he is on the mound.

    5. Ichiro is officially back to being 80% of the player he was..and that makes for a damn good player.

    6. With the next two against the O's we wrap up with 7 against the Royals and Twins...all at home before the break.

    7. After the break you add Nunez, Arod and Jeter to the lineup and even if Arod flops...you add 2 very good batters from the right side and finally avoid a lineup like the one they had out there tonite.

    8. Pitching...pitching pitching...and nobody has the starting staff and bullpen the Yanks have in the East.

Its going to be fun times after the break. Got to get the break at least 12 over 500 now.

^Agreed. Youkilis and Granderson coming back will be a nice boost as well. To be honest, Im impressed they are even above .500 with some of the scrubs getting playing time this yr. Too bad Boston is red hot playjng great ball.

and a shocker...Nunez back today and already 2 for 2 with a sac fly. Really think Boston will come back to the pack. And Youk? With all the updates they give every game...have not heard anything about him.

Tonite Jeter and Pineda start for triple A Wilkes/Scran....5 innings for Jeter..its getting interesting.

Would love to pull this game out today and love Kuroda coming back tomorrow for the finale.
