It might not matter to YOU if he were gay, but it would sure as hell matter to whoever franchise he's on. This guy is the middle linebacker... the QB of your defense. Try having the other guys on the team who come from nothing alienate him and not respect him. There'd be a divide in the locker room, chaos, and a lot of press. They would hate him. That's no way to teambuild and ensure a unit of one. It might not be an issue to educated people who grew up with nice families, but if you've ever been in a locker room full of meatheads you'd understand how big of a deal it would be. That shit would literally bring down your season. And you're stuck with that. What are you going to do, cut him? There's another lawsuit for discrimination and more press. It would be a disaster if the world found out he was gay.
The same people who think Tebow being a Christian is a "distraction" think that t'eo being gay wouldnt be a distraction. I dont think the GMs should be asking that question, but I understand why theyre doing it.

That seems like a pretty wild assumption that they would all hate him, even if he helped the team win. The only people that wouldn't respect him would be the complete morons, and generally you don't want them on your team anyway. At least it would help weed those ignorant idiots out. One of these days people will stop judging others based on something they have no control over. After all the progress made with civil rights and equality, it boggles the mind how people are STILL judging others on petty shit like that.
