I was about to go to bed...but I felt the urge to post here. Veras fucking sucks. If, by upside, the front office means the trajectory of the ball as it sails over the wall, he has a lot of upside.
unfortunately, they will probably swap Posada for Cevelli, leaving Cash around. I say this because if something happens to Posada, they can just call Cervelli back up. Whereas if they DFA Cash, they have to worry about someone else picking him up and not being able to recall him. ALTHOUGH, they could get Berroa off the team adn carry 3 catchers for a little while, very possible. and PLEASE DFA Veras for Melancon
I actually really like Cervelli too. I'd keep him around even once Molina comes back, though that could stunt his growth. Cash can go.
Welcome to first place, boys. Make yourselves comfortable... stay awhile. I really hope that it's Cash that gets sent down, although I could see them sending Cervelli down if they want him to get regular work (although I'd think with Posada's age and injury situation, there'd still be plenty of work for him). And, actually, I'm not sure what Cash's option situation is. They might have to DFA him.
You know, I'm really getting tired of making decisions based on worrying about losing someone who isn't actually contributing anyway. Veras and Cash can go elsewhere if someone wants them.
They keep Cervelli. Next year when Matsui is gone, Posada becomes the regular DH, Cervelli is the everyday catch getting spelled by Molina. Cervelli stays to get the XP.
I miss that rubber-faced Mexican catcher we had around the same time as Nokes....what the hell was his name? I htink he played for the Indians for a while Mark Salas?
Fun facts from wikipedia on Mark Salas: Currently employed by the Chicago White Sox as a bullpen catcher. Despite playing for the Minnesota Twins before being traded to the New York Yankees during the 1987 season, Salas never received a World Series ring. Instead, he was given a watch. Salas is one of a few major leaguers whose surname is a palindrome
That's a tough question to answer. Overall, I'd say yeah, I miss Posada, not Molina as much thanks to Cervelli. Posada's bat is still far superior to Cervelli's so it's an even deeper lineup when Posada comes back. (And it will be nice next year to have Posada be the DH and boot Matsui.) Defensively, I don't know. Posada has periods where he is awesome behind the plate, then stretches where you just scratch your head. Cervelli has been pretty impressive behind the plate. So yeah, I do miss Posada, but Cervelli has definitely made it much easier to deal with.
I love Posada. I hate his stupid Audi commercial though. Jack Danielllssss? I hate that white Castle commercial worse, the one with the pig doing the stripper dance and then getting gravied on. ekkk

The worst commercial by far is that annoying Brian Schneider Toyota of Manhattan commercial. He acts like a complete douchebag, and I just want to punch him in the face.
