Next series will be tough. We get Toronto's top 4 starting with Halladay and everybody knows how bad they want to stop us. This will be the series that decides if we have any chance at all for the division. We have 4 against Toronto and Boston has 3 at Tampa Bay.

Yankees playing .650 ball since June 1st and .681 since the break. Pretty impressive.

If we can't overcome Boston and end up with the best record in the league then I think we should root for Cleveland to get it. I would rather play them in either a 7 or 8 day series as we have beaten them all 6 times we played them this year. If Boston wins the best record they will have us playing a 7 day series which hopefully doesn't end up against LA. If LA wins it we will definitely be playing them in a 7 day series because they won't want Wang twice. Should be interesting how it turns out. Maybe that's wrong actually. If Boston wins, I guess we play them and they would want an 8 day series to get Beckett two starts on normal rest. It's all too confusing. I guess a week from now it will all be much clearer.

If Boston beats us out, it means we didn't have the best record.

Anyway, none of it matters. If the bats are alive the way they have been this year, and not the typical showings we've had in the past few Octobers, it can be anyone on the mound for and against us, and we stand a good chance.

I want Cleveland in the first round regardless. It's the best case for us, since it will cause the winner of the Sox/Angels series to be more fatigued. Then again, we can't look past whomever we draw in the first round, or we're in deep trouble.

I just keep praying this team can continue to win ballgames every night. Winning takes care of all problems.

I realize that but the team who does have the best record gets to decide their own schedule. If we don't beat them out that means they get to decide our schedule too by default. Since we will be the wildcard we will get stuck playing whoever that is and probably in a 7 day series. 6 of the 8 candidates for the Cy Young are on these 4 teams so the length of the first series is critical this year.
