yea, i forgot it was two tears. they had to wait for the mcl to heal on its own before they did the acl ... thats why i was sure he would start on the pup, clearly i was wrong
Hopefully we get off to a good start, so we dont rush Pace back. Seems sketchy to me. What bone did he break in his leg? During that game Shaun Ellis looked worse limping to the sideline. I thought Calvin was fine when he got off the field. Wasn't limping or anything.
I can't see him back in week 2 with a broken foot. Not back to 100%, not even close so probably should sit him for a few. He is the best pass rusher we have, not sure why we would risk further injury.
Just make sure he is healthy when he returns. 2 weeks does not seem like that long to heal a broken foot.
Yea, it's hard to discount anything Ryan has to say about it given that there are I believe 26 different bones in the foot. There are broken feet, and then there are broken feet. Heck, Pace walked off the field himself and didn't even appear to be limping as I recall, so it isn't a real stretch of the imagination to say this was a very very minor break. I'd love to hear more about this, but given that week 2 is the Patriots, it's probably safe to assume we won't be getting much as far as a detailed story on the break, the surgery, and Pace's recovery.
For me, if a doctor is saying he is ok to play week 2 than he is ok to play. None of us know what bone was broken, what the surgery entailed, or what he is gonna be doing to get ready for week 2. It is always important to remember that when these guys get hurt healing from their injury becomes their full time job. For about the next 3 weeks all he is gonna be doing is working on getting that foot back to 100%
maybe he was gonna be out for 6 weeks without the surgery and the doctors thought there was a good chance surgery would cut that time down. at that point money isn't an issue so why not do the surgery.
Because the general rule with surgery is that you never cut open a body if you don't absolutely have to. Surgery is always the last resort. Even if it were a "routine" procedure (and I've never even heard of a routine procedure on a broken bone) it still runs the risk of things like infection. I just don't see how this is a small enough injury to only be a 2 week thing.
I don't know man. If you give the player the option of waiting it out 6 weeks or doing what is probably a very simple procedure and getting him back on the field in half the time I think a lot of guys will opt for surgery.
I'm glad Pace is on track to come back sooner rather than later because IMO Thomas seems to have been ignored by every other NFL team, which says to me his career is over.
Last year he sat out the first 4 weeks and the Jets (and rookie QB) still nearly hit the jackpot. Rather have him full-speed for the stretch run instead of week 2 (with my fingers crossed). Get well soon Calvin, but no rush please.
some of you guys sound like big fat soccer moms. " dont rush back baby, mommy still lvoes you". GTFOH, he walked off the field so Im pretty sure he didnt have bones sticking through his fuckin unifor. They prolly screwed something in there, theyll pump him up full of steroids and hes back on teh fuckin field. His fuckin foot isnt gonna fall off. Stop acting like homos
