IMO, Brady has been a better player.

I'd probably put Manning behind both Montana and Brady.

Most Career passing yds - Manning (Brees 4th, after Manning, Favre and Marino)
Most Single Season passing yds - Manning (Brees occupies 5 of the top 10 single season ranks; 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 10th)
Most Career passing TDs - Manning (Brees 3rd)
Most Single Season passing TDs - Manning (Brees 5th)
Most Single Game passing TDs - Manning (7 - tied with Brees)
Most Career completions - Favre (Manning 2nd, Brees 3rd)
Most Single Season completions - Brees (Brees has the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th and 7th spots, Manning has 3rd and 4th. almost entire top 10 between these 2 guys)

Manning essentially owns every major passing record in NFL history.
His numbers are clearly best all-time, and Brees deserves a lot more credit than he gets as well.

    Some other uniquely Manning accomplishments:

Most NFL MVP selections - (5)
Only QB to be selected NFL MVP on different teams
Most QB First Team All-Pro selections - (7, tied with Otto Graham)
Most Pro Bowl selections - (14)
Only QB to win Super Bowl on different teams
Only QB to reach Super Bowl with 4 different head coaches (Dungy, Caldwell, Fox, Kubiak)
Most Career Wins as a QB - (200)

Manning was going to succeed wherever he was in the NFL.
There is no better resume in the history of this league, and the eyeball test matched.
people seem to only remember the last 1.5 years of an older Manning playing thru some debilitating injuries.
very short memories, as he broke a ton of single season records in lieu to another MVP season just 2 years ago!

Having seen a lot of great QB's since i started watching the NFL in the early 80's, i'd rank Manning and Montana as the top 2 I've seen.
it's hard to compare those 2 QB's, as well as Unitas, as the eras are just different.
imo, it's a pick em between those 3, which you can't go wrong on.

People even considering Brady as the best do not understand how football works. The question is who is the greatest QB of All-Time? Brady was a game manager for 3 of his rings, and the 4th one he would not have if Pete Carroll handed the ball to Beast Mode. Rings don't matter though in this discussion, but lets just say you use them as your defense. Brady has always been on the better team. Better coach, better defense, etc. (except for 2015 where the better Coach and Defense won for Peyton for once) Stats all go to Peyton. Eyeball test call goes to Peyton. He has truly been amazing. Peyton has carried his teams his entire career except for this final playoff run in 2015. Brady started carrying his team in 2006-07ish.

I think if Peyton had 0 rings and never went to a Super Bowl, this discussion would make sense. However, 4 Super Bowl appearances and 2 Super Bowl championships makes it a slam dunk.

Does anyone want to make a case for Brady that could make any sense without using his team's accomplishments? If so, try please.

Well lets see Brady has played outside and in the northeast his whole career, Manning has played in a dome most of his career, and Brady's stats are pretty similar to Manning. The both have the same QB rating, Brady has a better TD to Int ratio, they average about the same TDs and passing yards per season. But Brady has done it without Harrison and Wayne and than Thomas, Decker and Emmanuel on the outside. His best outside WR was Moss for pretty much 1 year. Only other HOF you can say Brady has played with is Gronk, who is great, but has missed a lot of time due to injuries, and is still a TE, not a WR, so half the time he is on the line blocking.
Brady has the best win percentage of any starting QB, and has the most playoff wins by a mile. He also owns every postseason passing record. Brady is the overall package, stats as good as Manning and Brees, except he plays outdoors in the Northeast, as well as a great clutch and playoff performer. Manning is not in the conversation, its Brady, Montana and you can make arguments based on era's for either of them. I am not sure outside of Pats haters and Indy fans who still puts Manning in the conversation.

Does Peyton dropping his nuts on a female trainer's face (allegedly) when he was in college at Tennessee change anyone's opinion on him? Between this and the HGH, Peyton has had some serious bad press lately, and I wonder if his reputation as a good guy may be forever tarnished. Just put Brady aside for a second, who has had his own share of scandals with Sypgate and Deflate-gate.

Good guy or not, he's one of the greatest QBs of all time. Statistically he is the GOAT.

Better than Brady who is no angel himself.

I've always heard rumors that Peyton isn't the nicest guy as he has been made out to be.

I'm not an Indy or Bronco fan and while I've loved watching him, I'm certainly not a Peyton fan so I don't really care.

If it were Chad Pennington or David Wright or Bobby Orr or Pearl Washington or any other one of my favorite players it would bother me a lot more. I loved Straw but I never thought he was a good guy. Same with Key.

Well, at least you attempted a debate. Poor argument though.

Here is an argument that cannot be denied: The IMPORTANCE of each player to their teams.

2008: Tom Brady goes down Week 1: Patriots go (11-5) without him.
2011: Peyton Manning OUT for the season: Colts go (2-14) without him.

    Pretty simple folks.

    I'd take
Bullshit argument. Pats chose not to tank, tailored their game-plans to make it as easy as possible for Cassel, had an easy schedule, and still missed the playoffs. The Colts made a concerted effort to suck for the #1 pick.

I'd say it says more about each organization than it does the 2 QBs.

    Wrong again

Cassell had the green dot special double mic in his helmet......it's easy math. He left the cozy patriot way "system" for KC and sucked hard

You are partially correct and making my point. The Patriots organization is why they win. Not Brady. The Colts organization is not great, but Peyton single handedly made them winners. Now hopefully Luck can continue the tradition he started.

That is just one of many points if you are just debating Manning vs. Brady but a big one.

Say Brady retires And they throw Garappalo in there, with the same "system" I expect he will look good.

cut off the head and the entire thing rots
