Win the effing game. We have plenty of ammo to move up if we really wanted to to get a wr.

I feel like some of you guys have never followed the draft. Omg!! We can't possibly get any talent if we pick in late teens. It's bad enough that there is one chance of a hated rival playing for a title in our stadium and you guys want to make it two teams for the chance to draft 6-9 spots earlier. GTFO!!

Dumb. We got in the mess we're in from trading up. Don't some of you guys ever learn anything? Every pick needs to be used, and it would be great if Idzik could trade down a time or two to garner some additional picks.

I know the feeling, but what if this loss is the difference between a scrub and a future HoFer wearing green and white? I know, an extreme scenario and difficult to prove out no matter, but an interesting what if, eh? What I do know is this: the higher we draft the more we control our destiny and/or can trade for even more picks or even future picks to keep fleshing out the roster. For me it is hard to pass that up to in a meaningless game.

I say we send in all the develomental players against Miami. Let's see what these guys have. Tell ed reed to sit his ass down, cromartie too. Let's see what these young guys have and how they react to real game time. It is a golden opportunity to evaluate players with nothing to lose.

My focus is on doing what' best for the Jets long term to help them get to where we all want them to be. Winning a meaningless game just to say we beat the Dolphins isn't worth it if it means missing out on an extra 60-70 or so prospects (the Jets will have 10-11 picks, but 3 of them will be comp picks and at the end of the round).

When I was younger I felt more like many of you. As I've gotten older, I spend less energy on hating rival teams. They're not worth it. Do I hate the fins? You betcha, but as the old saying goes, "I'm not willing to cut off my nose to spite my face" (not willing to drop that far in the draft just to say we beat the Fins in the last game of the season. Within a year or two, no one will remember or care whether we beat the Fins or they beat us. The players we miss out on, could make a HUGE difference in the future of this team.

I don't think this game will affect Rex's future with the team whatsoever. In fact, I don't think the W-L record this season will have much bearing on it either. IMO, Idzik will make his decision based primarily on whether he thinks Rex and he are on the same page and their two visions of the team match or are at least compatible and if Rex is the guy he wants coaching the team going forward. Beyond that, I think he will look at the caliber of job he thinks Rex has done in coaching and preparing the team to play, if there's been progress in the team's play, and if Rex has learned/grown, shown improvement in the areas he thinks Rex needed to improve upon. He knows that this was a rebuilding year with a rookie QB, that there were a lot of holes, and there was only so much Rex or any HC could do. He's been around the game too long to fire Rex for not making the playoffs or not having a winning season.

IMO that kind of attitude and focusing on the wrong things, could keep other teams playing for the Lombardi Trophy and the Jets on the outside looking in. They need talent. They want to build through the draft. They need as many and the best draft choices they can make. Yes, they have to make the right choices, but it's a lot better when they have more players/talent to choose from, rather than having to pick from what's left.

    I view this situation as a win/win.

    If we beat the Dolphins,

HEY we BEAT the Dolphins and (maybe) kept them out of the play-offs!!!!

    If we Lose...

Hey we just moved up 9 slots in the draft next year!!!

    Win/Win. :)

It really doesn't matter at all if we win or lose if Rex stays because we will draft defense in the first round again. The vicious cycle will continue.

The vicious cycle will continue?Wow gimmie a break ,this team is trending upwards right now,Im not convinced we are gonna draft offense in round 1 because we dont know enough about Idzik yet and he has enough cap room to add alot of players on offense.Your suppose to draft the best player available not by needs

No-one knows who we will draft until the pick is on the clock and we can see who is actually left to draft.

People would actually want to see the Dolphins beat us to gain a playoff birth in their home stadium to move from the 11th to the 20th pick in the draft?

11th, 20th, no difference in talent really. Once you're past the top five in most drafts it's a crap shoot.

NO WAY IN HELL I want to see the Dolphins win this game.

Still prefer beating the Phins though.

It's the hated Dolphins. You have to want to win this one if you're a real fan of the Jets. You never know what will happen with draft picks.

I agree. The Jets have a chance to knock the Fins out of the playoffs! It ain't the playoffs, but it's as good as it will get for the Jets this season.
