http://turnonthejets.com/2013/03/new-york-jets-roster-nfl-deplete/#more-13310 Let's stop the pre-puberscent angsting.
Truth is, it won't matter who the coaches are until we find a QB, and start drafting better. Until then we'll just keep spinning our wheels with new directions, new transitions, and coaching carousels. It's a formula proven to not work, and one the Jets have been doing for too long. So far i like Idzik's approach. We haven't made a ton of FO changes beyond Idzik though, so i'll reserve any judgement until i see how we start drafting.
New isn't always bad. Especially when what you're doing stops working. The Jets' method of trading DP's, signing expensive players and then putting off the balloon payments stopped working. We had a good run in '09 and'10 then it went off the rails. It was a good time for a change in direction. Better than continuing the downward trending. Idzik's approach just might work. We won't know for a few seasons yet. I like the idea of Idzik perhaps choosing a possible new HC. Especially one that can develop young talent and has a much fuller view of the entire Team and not just one facet of it. This isn't a team that's one or two players away but instead, a team that's one or two or even three years away. I have no doubt that once a winning formula is developed, Idzik and Woody will stick with it. The trick is getting there from here and if that takes gutting the team and starting over, then that's what it takes.
Those 2 AFCCG mean nothing to me anymore. The one against the Colts, we had the lead, and couldn't hold. But against the Steelers? We completely shit the bed. They were years ago. We are a much different, worse off team they we were those two years.
