I didn't even know the other thread closed down ... Give it about a week though - this thread will explode.
Probably the best thing for him is to have surgery and rehab for next season. It would give him a leg up in finding a new team. His pride may not allow this to happen for a while. What a sad ending for a career that promised so much ....
of course they will junc, there are like 10 fucking million jets fans. some of them will turn on a guy the day he is brought in. there is no way you can fix that. there is no way you can have 10 million people all thinking the same thing the same way. and i get it, you want people to look at things differently. im cool with that. but when you go so far over the top to try and get them to do that, that you look silly it doesnt help your cause. no you dont replace ben, or eli at this point. they are both having tough years but both of those guys bring a bunch of things that mark sanchez didnt bring and they HAVE led their team to the promised land. and i am not even going to talk about the measurables. browning nagle on the other hand was NOT going to lead us there. boomer esiason even though he led the cincinnati bengals to the big game was let go and then was not the answer here. its ok to change sometimes. imagine of the packers had said you know waht fuck this young guy we want another 2 years of brett favre... where would they be now? its about making smart decisions, not consistency. consistency comes once you make a few smart decisions.
Browning and boomer never had success here, Mark did. if we weren't foolish w/ the fake competition mark would be healthy and we'd be legit playoff contenders at 3-1/4-0 right now while Geno sits and learns from the bench.
Mark sucked for ALL of 2011 and ALL of 2012.... just count the pick sixes and the fumble sixes, no further research is needed Sure, he had some success in 2009 and 2010, but obviously that quarterback with that confidence is no longer wearing number 6. Thankfully this whole argument is moot, junc, since Mark has played his last ever game for the NYJ and probably his last ever game as a starting QB in the NFL. If he's lucky, some team will sign him to a nice David Carr-like career backup contract, something he can probably still handle
If the first half didn't count, we wouldn't be having this discussion. The D was AWFUL in the first half. Couldn't stop a nose bleed. Yeah, the O was sparking, but to say the D was the reason we were in it, is a bit much. They were the reason we were in such a hole. And to me, I, to this day blame that strip fumble on Mark at the end of the half on fucking Schotty. (yeah yeah yeah, what?) No way should you have Mark drop back with so little time left in your own side of the field. Run the fucking ball and get out of the half with less damage and a bit of momentum, you get the ball back.
Been saying this since his play has gone down and there were people rooting that he'd get hurt back then..
LOL yeah, yours was worse, how?... Also, You played baseball where the only physical contact is you grabbing your balls to fix your cup.
Well said. He also handled all the BULLSHIT this organization put him through the last few years with nothing but absolute class and better than any other person would have.
I was at the Giants preseason game this year and trust me, there were Jets fans around me that were cheering and celebrating when Mark stayed down.
I was down on Sanchez since approximately the middle of last year BUT he is still a Jet and he gave us TWO great seasons AND any of the miserable low lives cheering his injury should GTFO and go find a different team to poison as miserable worthless fans
