Of course not but when an agent agrees there is an unwritten rule that the deal is done. That is one of the reasons half the teams in baseball are on record that they will never deal with Scott Boras again. I'm not blaming the agent in this case. I am sure he thought he had the deal his client wanted. He just obviously doesn't know his client.
You guys should go check out some of the Ravens forums, there are all kinds of rumors flying around about what is going on.
ESPN is still reporting (as of 10 seconds ago) that The Jets have a deal in principle but Scott has NOT signed. So nothing has changed.
I had a feeling that Lewis not wanting to stay in Baltimore would make the Ravens look harder at bringing Scott back. Hopefully the Jets can get this deal done.
If you dont know then you arent a very good Jets fan........Its not their fault directly but this is the shit that always happens to them and always leads to disappointment from the fan base. Obivously the Jets didnt cause this to happen but were any of you surprised to hear it happened? Im guessing most of you were not surprised at all, and there is a reason for that.
It's impossible to know whether it's the player or the agent when something goes awry with something like this. It could be something as simple as lack of communication on both of their parts. It could be Scott's fault, or it could be an overzealous agent. Either way, the deal isn't done until the two principles sign. When the smoke clears, yeah, I'm sure the Jets are going to want to know who held them up. If it turns out to be the agent, they probably won't give him the time of day next time. If it turns out to be the player, well, all will probably be forgiven the first time he dislocates the index finger on Tom Brady's throwing arm.

Article says There is speculation that the Ravens have offered Scott a five-year contract worth $42 million.. is even true they up'ed it? this is nuts.
