I have no problem with going back and forth with Yankees fans, I'm just saying that in their Indians ALDS thread there was absolutely no trash talking that I saw coming from any of the Sox fans.
I dont know if youre mentioning me specifically......but am I not allowed to say "go Indians" or "dice-k sucks balls" in the sox-tribe thread?
You can do whatever you want. I just find it funny how so many people claim the Sox fans are classless, yet look at the difference between the two threads.....
That's ridiculous. This is a Jets website, meaning there are a large number of Yankee fans here. The more fans there are, the more chances you will have some trashtalkers. How many Red Sox fans are there here. 4...5? ..and where is Devil, btw? Ever notice how when they win he'll post THAT NIGHT, and he'll stick around to answer all comers. When things go south, he'll disappear until things go good again. Maybe he'll make one post here or there. Dude's a troll.
How is that a troll exactly??!?!?!?!? Sorry, the Yankees fans in this thread are closer to a troll than Devil EDIT - And yes, this is a Jets message board so why is there all this commotion when Mets fans enter Yankee threads?!?!
Part of being a troll is to post only to stick it to other teams fans. In Devils case, it's clearly the Yankee fans he's after as evidenced by the fact that he holds court on a site loaded with Yankee fans, and even went as far as to make a Red Sox/Indians ALCS thread while the Indians were still playing the Yankees. Clearly, that's only done to piss off Yankee fans. That's a troll, my friend. Look at you, you're a man because you are here when times are tough, and you're only here in the first place because you're a Jets fan....correct? Is Devil a Jets fan? No?..then what is he doing here besides trolling?
I'm here, I've posted several times since Game 2 of this series. Not in this specific thread, but on the board. I didn't post here because what am I going to say? They lost? Well no shit. If someone was to post something here asking me to respond, or if I had something to say on the post, I would. As for the reason I'm here at all, I've explained this several times. Off the board I'm very close friends with KurtTheJetsFan, and I signed up through him. If you want to call me out for not posting in this thread when they lost, whatever. Ask me a question about the game or post something remotely interesting and I'll respond. Unlike a lot of people here, I don't post just to post. Unless I have something specific I want to say, I just read.
Pitching Matchup for tonight is below. Hits & HRs allowed are inspiring at least. It should be a good one. Sox need the offense to take over this game. Two runs isn't going to cut it. Tim Wakefield Paul Byrd Games 31 31 Wins 17 15 Losses 12 8 ERA 4.76 4.59 Complete Games 0 2 Shutouts 0 2 Saves 0 0 Innings Pitched 189.0 192.1 Hits Allowed 191 239 Runs Allowed 104 107 Earned Runs Allowed 100 98 Home Runs Allowed 22 27 Base on Balls 64 28 Strikeouts 110 88 Hits by Pitch 4 6 Wild Pitches 10 5 Balks 0 0
Wakefield is also 5-1 lifetime with an ERA under 4 in the LCS, so hopefully he can capture some of that.
so Devil...honest question...and Murrel....scared having such a gigantic game in the hands of the knuckleballer? gotta take variteks bat out of the lineup as well right? would you skip wakefield and pitch Beckett?
I know I would. That would also take advantage of the extra day off by allowing Beckett to come back on full rest for game 7. if they pitch wakefield, there's no point. Personally, I would've thrown Wakefield instead of Daisuke. 1-Beckett 2-Schilling 3-Wakefield 4-Beckett 5-Daisuke, maybe 6-Schilling 7-Beckett
A cold playoff game w/ the sox backs against the wall? This is the kind of game Wakefield dominates in. He's a great "big game" pitcher...especially in cold weather. W/ that said, the Sox absolutely have to score runs early or the Indians momentum may become too much to overcome.
Wakefield is my favorite player, so I don't have a problem there. I would pitch Beckett though just to have him ready for a possible game 7.
of all the sox wakefield is your favorite? you have beckett as your avatar, gave us dice-k updates pitch by pitch this year and wakefield is your favorite? that caught me off guard
The first year I REALLY followed baseball closely was 1995 when I was 11. Wakefield was dominant that year, and because of him I learned to throw a knuckleball.
either buck and mccarver left the booth before the top of the 1st was over, or they were rendered speechless by ortiz swinging and missing at strike 3. there were no words spoken between when it was 1-2 and when they went to ads.
Good. The less those two hacks say the better. McCarver is an idiot. You don't "push" and knuckleball. You throw it exactly the same only you don't snap your wrist.
