Beckett is one of the nastiest pitchers I've seen. Wow. There shouldn't have been any runs scored off him, but that butcher Manny helped contribute. Red Sox defense turned a pop-fly into a double. They claimed Lugo kicked it, but on the replay, I think Manny knocked it away. Either way, totally pathetic effort defensively there.
it can't be said enough: Manny is a lazy showboat mofo. Unbelievable. He's killing his team with this shit. (although lowell did strike out. assuming the same thing would've happened either way, it technically didn't change anything) He won't run balls out because he wants to showboat. Simply disgusting. One of the greatest hitters ever, but he's a horrible baserunner, a poor fielder, a lazy player, and one of the most immature people you'll find. Beckett has outpitched Sabathia by such a wide margin it isn't even funny, and it's 2-1 headed to the bottom of the 5th. Sabathia with yet another poor performance (3 for 3 with bad postseason performances) and Beckett is dominant yet again (also 3 for 3).

Lugo knocked the ball away from pedroia, setting up 1st and 3rd. lugo continues to show why the red sox shouldn't have signed him. what a garbage player.

Oh I agree. but a team with Schilling, Drew, Dice-K, Beckett, Manny, and crotch-grabbing Lugo, with almost all of them being prominent players on their team, I don't know how a neutral fan can actually like them.
well, lofton's an asshole too, as I'm sure you know. but boston is definitely a tough team to root for. just manny would give me problems if I was a fan of that team, let alone some of the other guys. a mistake by francona not to pitch beckett in game 4, and that could cost them the series. sabathia has thrown 106 pitches. Beckett? 67, although through one less inning.
and now I find out I can't listen to the game on the radio, because the bastards at 1050 would rather talk about torre. they have a contract to broadcast EVERY MLB playoff game, but they're liars. Every year they say the same thing (you can hear ALL OF THE ACTION and EVERY GAME here on 1050), and every year they miss a bunch of games. gotta stay glued to the TV, then.
IMO, both Gutierrez and Sizemore could have caught the ball, but the confusion is what cost them and sizemore's knocking the ball away allowed the slow youk to reach 3rd. I think Boston takes this game. I also think Cleveland will take the series, and that my predicted WS of Colorado-Cleveland comes to fruition.
that was the first charged error in the game. ridiculous. what about the plays in the outfield that allowed youkilis and sizemore to take extra bases. The scorer is crap.

looks like beckett's pitch count will wind up 3 short of sabathia's. really irritating. I had a parlay on pickspal which involved boston winning, beckett throwing more pitches, and ortiz and peralta not getting 2 hits. 2 right and one thisclose to being right
