That was the Fuentes meltdown that I've been waiting a month for. Hopefully Corpas gets the job done against Clark.
3 outs away...and an unreal postseason continues. At stake the Rockies will also attempt to become the 1st team to sweep both the LDS and LCS in the same year.
I got the autographs of Jamey Carroll and Ian Stewart before the two games I attended in August. They got red hot after I flew back to New York. I must've energized them.
be sweet if byrnes made the last out. that jackass claimed the d-backs were outplaying the rockies and the rockies were just getting lucky
I am so happy for all the people I know in that organization.... I am almost as happy if it was the Mets
Well, the original incarnation of the Senators (the one that moved to Minnesota in 1961) played in three World Series, winning in 1924.
he's a sore loser if there ever was one. "I think we're a good team, I also don't think the Rockies have outplayed us, because they haven't," Byrnes said Saturday afternoon before the Diamondbacks workout at Coors Field. "Not even close. They've had a little luck go their way. Definitely, the ball has bounced in their direction. They've been the beneficiary of some calls. "So when we look at that as a group, we look back on those first two games, we have not been outplayed. If anything, I think it's the other way around, so that gives us confidence knowing that we can play with them. That and the fact that we faced them about 9,000 times this year. We are not really fazed by what's going on right now."
the Diamondbacks had just lost two games at home to the Rockies, where they should've had a sizable advantage (Webb going Game 1, Arizona was +10 at home this year while Colorado was -12 on the road). Regular season: Arizona 50-31 at home Colorado 39-42 on the road.
Jamey Carroll is nothing special but I remember Stewart when he was in Modesto (High A) he was an absolute beast. I believe he is a 3rd baseman. They had a guy Joe Koshansky who hit about 45 HRs at Asheville which is Low A. He is also on the roster, I think Eric Young Jr is in their system too and he makes Willie Taveres look like Jason Giambi on the bases. He can flat out steal bases. I think he had about 60 at the All Star breakl 2 years ago. It's amazing that when I look at the guys that are on the roster for the Rockies I knew a bunch of them when I worked there. Guys like Atkins, Hawpe, Sullivan, Spilborghs, and Jeff Baker were all on the roster to start the season. Guys like Helton (nicest guy on the planet, I kid you not. Signed autographs for an hour after his 2 rehab games) and Cook made rehab starts. This would really be an awesome way to dedicate baseball to the memory of Mike Coolbaugh as he was a manager with the Rockies Dbl A Club in Tulsa. They donated one entire gate to is family which is amazing considering that every game @ Coors has been completley sold out. That's probably over 5 million dollars. They are a great organization inside and it's finally time that they are on the outside as well.
