We do need to pick and choose our battles with who we're replacing though. Are we really going to cut both safeties and Revis heading into next season? Or move Revis to safety at his absurd cap number (when he doesn't want to tackle anymore), and try to replace the strong safety, and upgrade both corners? Pryor played at a pro bowl level last year. I wish I could figure out why he reverted back to the horrible angles and all the garbage he did in his rookie year. The entire secondary needs to be revamped, but I'd imagine we opt for replacing two out of the four rather than dig ourselves deeper into trying to replace three out of four when Pryor's still on his rookie deal.
Were you saying that last year when Pryor looked to be our defensive MVP? Playing in a scheme and role that he actually is built to play in? Nah.. so KNOWING he was playing out of position his 2 of his 3 years.. the one year he wasn't he played great... he's a bust? lmao stop it fam.. Watching guys score on everyone in our secondary was just as annoying to me to watch as the next jets fan but lets not get amnesia.. And Rontez Miles is a really good safety... Only Toilet Bowles would bench his starting safety because he isn't doing well at what the whole world knows he can't do lmao. He was benched for missing a team meeting too I believe so lets not act like performance was the reason he was benched..
He roams the box and covers that area.. that's what he did at Louisville that's what he excelled at last season. Deep coverage is not his thing! You can't ask players to do what they've never been asked to do and expect them to be great at it.. He's a BOX RUN SUPPORT SAFETY! When we finally get a real cover FS we'll see!
Totally agree. This is classic Bowles and his DC biggest problem and the massive reason for my discontent. Stop trying to make the players fit the system and play them out of position. Be smart enough to change the schemes you fit your talent and please learn to adjust on the fly to the opposition adjustments
Yes indeed. Playing Sheldon at LB and Pryor at FS left me scratching my head on many occasions. Gilchrist had a much better year in 2015 as well. Plus Bowles ran too much 4-3, IMO when the Jets don't really have the personnel for that and that burned the Jets in coverage plenty of times. Pryor is supposed to be a blitzing / run support safety. I just hope that Wilkerson comes back with a vengeance next year. He was clearly not himself for most of the season.
Great post and exactly how I feel. He is a as worthless as SR, #24, Fitz and the other underperforming primadonnas... clean house and please att the stiff we call a HC with them....
